Yes, I was somewhat peeved about that but it was revealed through a short story. That is much better than just saying he’s gay and calling it a day. 
Same. I can’t stand that for any sexuality - straight or gay. I would only accept it if it’s crafted well. To put it into perspective, maybe a hero was bullied for their sexuality when they were young and blah blah blah they become a superhero in the future. (Very vague and cringe but hope you understand. I just want heroes that are crafted well; with or without their sexuality being used as a feature).
