More Hackers Than Ever! PLEASE FIX, BLIZZARD!

I’ve seriously encountered about 80 this week alone. With video proof (only POTGs for now until I can record more of my kill replays). But I’m still just made fun of because of my rank and others think I’m reporting better players like I haven’t played other comp FPS games before and can’t tell the difference between a bot and a genuinely skilled player. (I’ve been playing for over 15 years, you idiots! OTHER GAMES EXIST!)
I can’t climb in this mess! I’m lucky if I only encounter one hacker in a comp game, because at least I can win that game since they’re still bad enough to stay in bronze. But when there’s three or four on the enemy team, the game is completely DOA.
It’s just as bad when they’re on my team, too because they think that being able to see through walls and aimbotting will make up for a bad team comp against other players using the same hacks.

It wasn’t this bad not even a month ago. I’m pretty sure private profiles has made hackers think they’re invulnerable to being found out. Especially since private is the default setting so plenty of innocent players will have their profiles private and it’s harder to tell when someone has something to hide.

I’m already uploading the crimes against fair competition online. I’m pretty sure that if I wasn’t I’d have quit as soon as my INFESTED placement matches were over and just stuck to console. I can outplay somebody cheating with KBM better than over half a team being able to see through walls and insta-headshot across the map…
But it’s more fun to name and shame right now. Definitely more fun than the actual matches themselves, I tell you.

if you are a 15 year fps veteran why are you a bronze Lucio main? also if someone is hacking, they would most likely be placed diamond and above. even then, majority of hackers are gm and get banned within a few days(assuming people actually reported). also where can i find the footage of the hackers? complaing about hackers in bronze on the forums wont get you anywhere

This probably stems from a bug brought up a while ago, that I’ve seen quite a bit recently, where the kill cam shows erratic aim despite nothing else fishy actually going on.

I report either way so things are investigated, but if someone is in Bronze and aim hacking, they’re either trying to create a new aim hack or it’s just this bug.

Report and move on. Bronze is a tough life; I started there and I know what it’s like, but even hackers can’t keep you in Bronze so just keep improving. <3

80 in a week… I’ve played since beta and maybe seen like… 5? I feel like you don’t know what hackers look like… even with your 15 years experience lol.

It’s bronze, I feel like it’s just buggy kill cams of anything at all

Because Overwatch has different secondary mechanics to most other FPS games (Ults, hacking, team based MMR gain/loss etc). When the rest of the team won’t pick a healer, I go Lucio since he’s the best one I play as in that class. If I pick anybody else I get screamed at for not picking a healer and if I like playing Lucio anyway, why would I pick anybody else? I’m building up my skills and time on other heroes because I’m still not sure who my real main is. It might be Lucio, I dunno. But I’ve not put nearly enough hours in to know for sure.
Regardless, the same hacks used in Overwatch are used in other FPS games. So anybody that’s seen those take over another game before will find it easy to see the signs.
My rank is also affected by the hacking because they were throughout my placement matches. I was originally close to gold before this problem began. And my skills have improved, yet my rank continues to slip despite my best efforts to communicate and improve. So in this case, my rank doesn’t matter. Because it’s not my real rank. Even more so than usual.

Unless they are actually bronze and therefore once they encounter better players that are also hacking, they will still place low. A lot of Bronzes are desperate to climb out and will do whatever it takes with the least amount of effort to improve their arbitrary rank. Add to that the mentality of “Everybody else is doing it, I might as well, too.” and you’ve got a perfect setup for an explosion of hackers in bronze rank.

It will when enough people start speaking up about it. There aren’t enough threads right now about how bad it’s getting and I needed to put my voice out there regarding my horrible experiences this season so far.
Anyway, here. Some of the hacks are more subtle than others but like I said, 15 years plus playing online third and first person shooter games, I can see the signs. I report everyone I am certain about. Meaning some will slip through the cracks. But generally, I will report about 5 to ten other players for every video I upload.
I save suspected play of the game footage and look over it again and again until I know for sure with every example before uploading. I also directly call out the ones I see when I can.

TLDR:
1.I like playing Lucio but I mostly play him because he’s needed and I’m best at playing him out of all healers.
2. Bronze isn’t my real rank because of hackers in my placements and I can only win games when there’s no or less than 3 hackers on the enemy team.
3. Bronze hackers are still bronze when playing against other hackers.
4. My hacker play of the game playlist is in the above link.
5. The more people speak out about hackers the more Blizzard will have to listen.

I think that you don’t really know what people with decent aim, shooting very predictable targets(bronze players) look like.

You clearly don’t know what an aimbot looks like.
I just watched all thise clips and literally none of those players are using aimbots

I’ve seen Plats who have better aim than that. Stop acting like 15 years of experience in FPS games means anything. It doesn’t, just shows you’ve been gaming for longer.

Did you watch the clips yet?
It’s so obvious that this guy simply doesn’t know what he’s talking about

The best part though- He had a Junkrat clip,2 pharah clips, and a rein clip that he tried to say was them hacking.
That Rats aim was so bad it’s hilarious he thinks the guys aimbotting
I’ve got 400 hours rat and play him at high diamond so I have much better aim than the rat in that clip…usually. I bet if I killed him with rat he’d try and say I’m aimbotting

If you couldn’t see the obvious hacking in that first video, you really need to watch/re-watch Nateson’s videos on the topic.

Yes, I watch higher ranking gameplay. I watch it several times a week. I know what it looks like. Those players in the clips aren’t legit.

You think someone being able to track a target well once immediately makes them a hacker

You did see the other like 5 shots he missed right?
Including the 1 on a PERFECTLY still Widow!
This thread is just sad

Just because he missed doesn’t mean he’s not hacking. Aim assist is on console yet people miss all the time. A lot of paid for hacks are designed that way so that they’re not so obvious. You obviously know nothing on the subject.

I know enough to know none of these people were hacking

Which is clearly more than you know

This is hilarious. Do you not know what people who can aim a little bit look like? Nateson did a fantastic video on how to tell aimbotters apart- are you actually so terrible at this game that any midocrum of aim equates to an aimbot??? You even have heroes in your playlists that have no need for aimbots and CLEARLY aren’t aimbotting…

Just because they’re playing heroes that don’t require good aim as much doesn’t mean that they haven’t left their aimbots on when they switched. Am I seriously debating this with you people? It’s clear as day!

Do you know what a hacker looks like? Take a look at this: gfycat(dot)com/FrenchInformalBaboon . Do they look like a hacker?

I actually watched your videos.

Those were smurfs.

The junkrat got lucky.

People literally ran in straight lines into Pharahs rockets.

The Sym vs Pharah was simply the Sym being a bot with predictable movement patterns (was that you?).

The Rein one was the only suspect one…and I am pretty sure that is the stuttering killcam glitch. (Killcam not accurate).

So basically if someone gets more than 2 kills in a POTG, they’re hacking. Got it!

That you don’t know what you talking about

Otherwise you’re a troll and if that’s the case I can flag this post!

15 years? Nice, when I started playing shooters we called them doom clones. What’s your point with that statement though?

Hackers will always exist in an online game, but you’re exaggerating the numbers just a tiny bit. I can guarantee that not even a third of those alleged hackers are actually hackers, but just good players. And POTG videos have never been reliable for that because there are some technical limitations on that play-back that makes it seem off while it isn’t.

In any regards, if you suspect someone of hacking, report and move on.
