With more and more recolours, that doesn´t even fit the theme of BP or season (or even colour palette), I realised something sad - it ruins the original skins for me.
Original skins are no more original, if they release the same thing with uglier colours.
Yeah, it never bothered me, that there was bilion people with the same skin, that is supposed to be “rare”, no. This multiplying of the original skin is, what ruins the original for me.
I wonder, if anyone feels the same way about it.

I mean, I do not care about the rarity of a Skin outside from special skins like Noire Widow, Pink Mercy, Blizzcon skins etc. But normal skins should not be special (its a digital good, that has no number limit, can be multiplied endlessly and everyone already has it in the files anyway.)
With recolors (aside form them being the cheapest form of Skins and often having a bad color palette) my main gripe is their pricing. Why should I spend full price on a Skin, I already own just with a different color?
If we had a -50% discount on colorvariations for a Skin we already own it would be ok, but right now its just scummy and greedy.
I disagree with this part. Of course it makes sense from the point of business (or greed), but Blizzard was once known for their original art and attention for detail in every single skin (or majority of them). Every skin was unique piece of art full of hidden details. In OW 1, you always could have expet new, original, unseen skins and those skins were “one of a kind”.
OW 2 - no more.
And don´t tell me they are out of ideas. They keep releasing buttload of skin koncepts on their socials.

oh thats what you meant with “rare”. I was focused on the “rarity” through sales and using FOMO.
but yeah I agree on that. While Overwatch had Recolors since its release, those where made with care and taste, made sense and where a rare occurrence. Most Recolors where part of the release loadout of a Hero, I mean new Heros do not even come with a single Legendary skin.

Yeah, that what I meant.
Now, you have recolour for almost every skin, that is not even 2 months old and it feels like cheap knock off - both original and recolour.
And yes, I like some of the recolours better, than their originals (Bastet Ana in black and gold, Demon hunter Sombra with gold, Tyrande Symmetra as a blood elf), still think, that they are undermining value of the original skins like this a lot.
