Moira's hitbox is INSANE [SCREENSHOT]

I did a test with a friend. She was standing directly on top of me, and I was still able to lock onto her:

Moira’s detection range for her beam increases inversely proportional to how far she is from her target, for someone standing on top of you, you can expect the beam to have a humongous detection range because basically the distance is like 0.1 in a 2d plane

so, as odd as it seems, it’s working as intended I guess

Moira is so perfect.

Her hitbox is the shape of a cone, so the closer you are, the easier it is for her to target you

Moira rules. The forum drools.

Are you sure that isn’t maybe a bit misleading?

We have no context to that image, who you’re hitting on your head, and if the beams actually attached, or if its just the animation of it sticking on

That’s not Moira’s hit box, it’s other heroes. Hog has a bigger one that Tracer.

There is also a tic delay for the graphic to disconnect from the hero. If Genji does his dash it will do what you see in the screenshot. This is why people think it’s a lock-on beam when in fact it isn’t. It’s just he visual graphic.

If you had played when Symmetra 1.0 was around you would know what a real lock-on is.

no, it continues doing damage off of your screen

There is context actually

According to the OP, It would be their friend

If the beam weren’t attached then it wouldn’t be extended and wouldn’t be bending like that.

Probably both. The animation is on the enemy and is most likely attached.

I think they meant what hero

Although by the thing at the top, I guess it is sombra

Oh

Then yeah, probably Sombra then

It’s a combination of 2 things, the beam’s hit box and inverse detection angle and the target’s hit box - which in OW are fairly generous.

The beam has a few frames where it “stays attached” but its only an animation

by using those frames it can be misleading and make you think that the beam is much more flexible that it really is

Not quite… its constantly 2x the width of a test range dummy. It only feels like a cone, its not. People are also confusing “hitbox” (which is Moira’s own) with “targeting box”.

it wont disconnect until the person dies, and it will continue doing damage until they die

But she’s on top of you…? Like anyone could hit them?

Also she has the LOWEST DPS in the game
