Me and a buddy have been in a bit of an argument and they wanted me to ask people, so my question is, what is the general opinion on Moira’s primary fire (right trigger) being her heal (left hand) and vice versa for damage, he argues that “healing is her primary focus, so naturally it should be primary fire” while i argue “the arm being raised should fit the button being pressed”, he has a valid argument but also, i feel like it’s a BIG stretch
Personally I use the Right Trigger for Damage and the Left Trigger for Healing. Why? Two reasons. 1: It matches what Moira herself does, Right for Damage, Left for healing. Hand-eye coordination. And 2: most other heroes have their damage on Right Trigger too.
I also changed Bap’s and Illari’s damage to be on Right trigger

With Moira I have Heals on Left mouse button, and damage on Right mouse button. It matches what is going on visibly on screen.
This muscle memory really messed me up when Illari first released. I had to immediately swap her primary and alt fire. I was shooting at friendlies and heal-beaming enemies until I did that.

The only reason her hands are backwards is because they aren’t backwards on PC
Overwatch is designed for PC first, so some things don’t get implemented quite right on console. Left mouse click and right trigger are primary fire, right mouse click and left trigger are secondary fire.

That’s what i assumed, that there was some PC and Console oversight or something that caused this
But what’s weird is that, this doesn’t apply to Mauga iirc, his arms match the button being pressed on default controls, my friend argued that “it’s different, because the guns aren’t different enough to need swapping”, but I’m guessing there was miscommunication when we were talking about it there
He also said something along the lines of “The primary use of the character (for Moira, this is healing) should be the Primary fire, it does not have to match what side the character in question is firing from”
You are right on Mauga, he’s the first one to get it right on all game versions. Doomfist is also backwards on console

I swapped her triggers after about 2 min in the practice range. Less thinking. Right hand is right trigger, left hand is left.
Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
