Maybe I’m looking too far into it? but now I’m expecting lore? LOL
Translation:
Talon’s two heroes entangled in a secret past Widowmaker and Moira
We are back as a video patch note! Check out the changes in skill, hero rotation, queue priority, etc. with the voices of Widowmaker Jihyun Lee, Sungwoo Lee and Moira Imina!

It’s probably just because they have the voice actors with them, it’s like how there was that thing with Bastion, Winston and Ana a few weeks ago which leads to nothing
Aw okay…
The “secret past” thing had me freaking cause so many have theories that Moira did that to Widow lmao.
I WAS THINKING OMFSJFJFDSFDJFJSDF MOIRA/REAPER/TALON/BLACKWATCH LORE

I have this idea that talon is actually good and that widow made the choice to go with them.
So that would be exciting.
That they met as ballet dancer and overwatch developer… And now stick together for saving the world

I always wanted Gabriel and Moira to be the “good guys” because Overwatch left Gabriel for dead… but maybe it was because he knew many “truths” and about a lot of the corruption (if any), and Moira only knew because Gabriel confined in her about it.
Fan theories
sorry for 1,000,000 edits.

They are the good guys in a different perspective
I have a huggge thing from 3 main voice lines early on:
“Overwatch was shut down for a reason!”- mercy
“You don’t know anything about him” -widow
“What happened to you?*”- mercy
As the game progressed , I’m more and more sure that yes…overwatch was shut down for a reason. Highly oppressive world military force with no oversight or accountability beyond public perception
Tinfoil hat
I believe that mercy was the insider who brought it down. But that Moira knew and said nothing. And that blackwatch was blamed for the “bad things” but that the true political power force came via overwatch.
Ultimately , Amelie would realize the damage her husband inflicts and knows she needs to do something.
So you have simultaneous lines of deceit-
Mercy, going through an internal struggle of morality
Reyes- fighting to keep his system alive for some kind of good
Jack- unaware of what a monster ow has become
And
Amelie - terrified of her husband’s work and the evil done. Like a mafia wife
Amelie chooses to leave and utilizes how her husband wouldn’t see her betrayal. She loves him, but cannot abide his deeds any longer
Moira helps her. And she helps now, manage the guilt and pain…
It’s not the physical pain widow needs help with. It’s emotional…ballet dancers are hard core. Being cold is whatever. But feeling the betrayal she had done…it’s unbearable
It’s a whole thing I once explored in lore discussion but, after mercy worshippers and “fanfiction” accusations…I’ve stopped going there

Moira’s True Neutral. She doesn’t care about people, she cares about advancing her knowledge.

Reading that actually made me so happy… I would love for it to become canon!

Oh my god, I guess they hinting once again that Moira is the one that actually slowly cures Widowmaker’s condition, not the one who screwed it. I could see some vibes of that when widow’s last year’s archives skin was announced - she looks more healthier and has more pinkish lively skintone. Someone can argue that this skin was a representation of her early years in Talon, but I highly doubt about it, because she looked more different in ana’s comic. Thus, I think it’s more of a modern-time widowmaker, and she slowly reverts to her original state.

Personally, I like dynamics where there are no real “villains,” just characters with different traits and goals that you may or may not agree with, but all can have a case made for them. The best villains, though, are the ones who take good principles to a twisted extreme.
Also, I read “Moira and Widowmaker secret past” and my mind went to places children aren’t allowed.
Secret past would be cool specially with Moira asking Widowmaker how she is feeling, making sure the brainwash is still in effect which she may have had been involved in more than she should have?
Nah. I think this is the facade she puts on, and she might even believe it herself, but her voicelines and such show that she’s a truly awful person.
But she does care about people, humanity is the thing she wants to improve.

Because she doesn’t care about people and only cares about advancing her knowledge. Unlike Doomfist, who really wants people to suffer for philosophical reasons or Reaper who just wants to kill people, Moira doesn’t care if people suffer or die, just sometimes it furthers her research.
Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t Jeff say verbatim that two of the hero redesigns he was really excited for were…
Moira and Widowmaker?

In the same way and to the same extent a mechanic improves an engine, because it’s a test of her knowledge.
That’s amazing, I would love for it to be revealed that Moira is not only helping fix Gabriel, but also trying to help her too

which ones, when she sharply defends herself after getting another chunk of hate thrown on her, or when she’s just curious about Mei’s research without having any knowledge about what Mei actually experienced? She doesn’t have any evil intent while asking that, and even in her dialogues with Winston, she becomes rude on him only after when he’s blaming her for violating ethics.
I don’t know. I take most of those lines as her being pretty hostile and combative. And the one with Mei, yeah, that was intentional. That’s the kind of person she is.
And it’s telling that everyone in Overwatch seems to hate her, even more than Reaper or Doomfist. The only comparison that’s even close is Tracer and Widowmaker and they have much better reason.
