I bought and have played this game since it’s release in 2016 and even though the devs have “balanced” the game they continually screw it up over and over with every new character they release. The one character that continues to piss me off the most when playing against is Moira since her release. The devs don’t want to recognize the screams from players online either on here or other places. I doubt the devs will ever actually listen to their players and posting this will yield no results other than a few angry comments saying she is “balanced” when she clearly isn’t. Anyway here we go.
She either needs to be support/healer or pure damage. Even then her damage is something that needs to be changed.
First is her right click damage beam: Why the hell does it have such a long range (20 meters or 65.6 feet) and add on the fact it connects or hooks to the enemy when you touch 1 pixel of their hit box and does full damage even though shields. If it did less damage when on the outside of the player and more if you actually focused center mass it would ok, but it does full damage and you barely have to try to track an enemy just kind of follow them and they melt, because it hooks onto everyone. If they were worried about range they gave her the damage ball for a reason. Which is the next thing I need to talk about.
Second is her damage ball. It should not ricochet off surfaces. EVERYONE complained about other heroes that had abilities that ricocheted and the devs got rid of them. But Moira’s? Noooo they do nothing about it. Now the range and its LONG duration is stupid. The fact she can throw it and have it go THROUGH shields and then go all the way across the map if it doesn’t ricochet is way to far. Then have it basically go on FOREVER before it deletes itself. Come on. It does a small amount of damage, but when you add on the duration and ricochet, I’ve literally watched it wipe out most of my team when she half haphazardly threw it into a hallway, then turned around, to heal her team not caring that she just melted everyone is BS. One thing I barely mentioned is the fact it goes through ALL shields, Sigma, Ramatra, Rein, Zarya, Brigitte, even Symmetra’s ult. Shields that are SUPPOSED to block all incoming damage and the ball goes right through all of them.
Even with the latest reworks for Moira was buffed for some reason.
Health increased from 200 to 250.
Biotic Grasp
Secondary fire damage increased from 50 to 65 damage per second.
Secondary fire target acquisition radius increased from 0.6 to 0.7 meters.
and I get that all other heroes also got more health and damage, but giving more health/armor and increasing everyone’s damage at the same time doesn’t change anything blizzard.
Everything else about her I don’t mind, it’s not terrible. It’s just her main damage abilities that are ridiculous.
Things I would change:
-Reduce her right click damage beam range by half, force her to get closer at all times even with her teleport.
-Remove damage beam be able to go through shields.
-Remove lock on for damage beam so it doesn’t hook onto someone when barely tracking them.
-Reduce right click damage.
OR
-Remove beam lock on and make her right click do less damage on the edge of other heroes and more damage when focused on center mass. Increases overall skill level needed to be good at the character instead of barely looking at someone.
-Remove ricochet of damage ball
-Reduce range and duration of damage ball
-Remove damage ball ability to go through all shields
