I just finished a competitive match in low Diamond, 0 deaths while everyone else hovering around 5-10. People in match start complaining that Moira is a **** design and OP. “gives the wrong idea of the game in a new players head” is what someone said in the match.
I personally think she’s one of the weaker supports in the game, she brings no utility but makes up for it in self-healing/evasion. I’m just confused on how the community thinks she’s OP? Is it because she can get away from tricky situations easier than most supports? I honestly just positioned myself in ways I wouldn’t be targeted and ran away when I saw the fight was basically lost. Is that what’s broken about her?
She’s a classic pubstomper. OP in lower ranks due to the high value she provides for little effort. But that value has a pretty hard cap on it, which makes her dog piss in mid to high ranks. I’m surprised you’re even doing well with her in diamond, so kudos to you. She doesn’t need nerfs. She needs a soft rework that provides more skill expression.
She isn’t overpowered just a lot of “free value”.
Characters like that are more oppressive to lower skilled players and in that context you could say she is overpowered.
I personally despise moira but it helps to let people join in our games who aren’t the best at fps so there is both sides.
Moira has a very low skill floor, so she is easy get value out of. People mistake this for being overpowered, not understanding that her value difficulty curve is very steep. The higher in rank you go, the harder it is to get the same value out of her kit.
It is possible to get strong value out of her at the highest ranks, but the skills and practice necessary are much higher than other characters due to her simplistic kit.
Are you on PC or console? Moira is pretty strong on console as far as I remember, it’s been ages since I played on PS4 though, but I do remember those nasty Moiras.
She isn’t too op at all, even in lower ranks. Although I had a game a bit ago in qp where the moria only died once the whole game, no matter how much damage she took. Sort of eyebrow raising I say
This is why its hilarious when people try to pull rank about why their opinion is worth more than people of lower ranks… Diamond is considered ‘high elo’ and theyre spouting off with absolute garbage takes.
If you think Moira is OP, you stink; its not her, its you. That simple.
people think she is op cause you can hit her consecutively and her beam heals you, and you can heal ball or dark ball depending on what you need… couple good consecutive shots at moria and shes dead…
