Having Moira on defense is almost a suicide. why? Because she doesn’t counter any character, she lacks support skills and a defensive ultimate.
Yesterday i was rolled against a nano genji because we had no defensive ultimates (our healers were Moira and Mercy one tricks), and of course our supports we’re saying that healing were not the problem. Lol, everytime we had a chance of winning the fight the enemy zen had ultimate, and the nano genji was wrecking us even when our Moira main had like 15k healing.
Then he said that Moira counters genji. Lmao maybe in silver, but as you rank up, genji players are more skillfull, so they can easily kill Moira players, besides as you rank up Ana players are more common so nano becomes THE thing. And to counter nano, you need a defensive ult, so either lucio or zen can do the work. For real, with zen you can have more impact on a game even if you dont hit your shots, transcendence and discord are so much powerful.
I am in diamond right now but i really dont see some guys one trick Moira so hard.
I think moira is very underestimated by the community because her kit is easy to play making her playerbase weak mechanically/gamesense. But a good moira can carry a game with her AOE heal and very strong ult. She has strong counters but genji is not one of them in my opinion. I play a lot of genji on my alt and i never jump moira with blade. Why? Because if she shifts while i try to blade her my whole ult is wasted and god forbid ana nanoes me then. 2 ults wasted. People have to understand that solo graving nano genji is still worth because it’s 1 ult for 2. Besides with her healing orb plus left click only reaper and ana counters her heals. Shame her playerbase is really unskilled and i would like a small rework to make her more skillful like imagine you could charge right-click like symm balls and same with heal making heal balls and shift her e to constant stream of dmg every couple of seconds which would pierce through enemies and allies having a little bit increased dmg comparing to her right-click now or even the same dmg but piercing like i mentioned earlier. Her ult could stay the same with constant kamehameha and you magically have a more gameplay oriented hero where her ability isn’t an addition but a core cooldown like ana nade is.
Tell me how Moira can stop a nano blade. With zen you just press Q. Or how can you keep your team alive during a reaper ult. Again with zen you just press q, with ana you throw your dart and that’s it.[quote=“Simohayha-21133, post:3, topic:353314”]

Baptiste healing is better fot AoE and he has his field which can protect you from big dps ultimate. Moira coalescence is only solifdin a handful of situations WITH the healing orb. But Moira players love to spam damage orb lol.
She needs a buff asap. I was looking at overbuff and there are only 8 Moira players above gm (no top 500 Moira players). She is the only support that doesn’t get consistent play beyond GM.
Well as you rank up, whenever you get qd with a genji main support players (except for Moira one tricks of course) will switch to ana to get nano blade and win games.
This happens in silver and low gold. Or hace you ever seen a GM Moira laugh at Necros or Water? If so please send me the vid, id love to see that.
Decent genji players kill moira super easily lol. Whats your SR?
Im comparing Moira to other supports. Because Moira one tricks play Moira no matter what, if you already have a main healer they play Moira, if you have an off healer, if you have dive, they play Moira, if you have bunker they play Moira…
But as you said it Moira is a main healer and Ana is the best main healer in the game by far, so why playing Moira at all? She is the worst main healer and doesnt have any support nor defensive ult.
I’m a high Masters Support main. And i still walk all over Genjis as Moira.
At your rank i would be on fire with 4 gold medals carrying the entire game.
I’m telling you that you are wrong. Up until the top tiers of GM the hero you play means absolutely nothing really. As long as it works with the team comp. It’s all down to how well you play said hero. Moira is still 100% viable in Masters.
In fact in Masters last night i had to swap to Moira from Zen because our Ana couldn’t cope with dive. I ended up easily overtaking Ana in healing (22k healing done) and we won the game.
Consider there are soo many other heroes that can shut a Genji down as well…And without his ult he relies heavily on the other DPS to effectively dish out his part of missing damage.
Maybe play Zarya or rein and shut the Genji ult down yourself if you don’t trust your supports. Hell play Torb. Or do you prefer the heroes you play? Your issue is attacking 1 tricks and blaming someone else for a loss. Did you personally play perfectly in that game? Did you swap to help the team?
Remember they are playing at your rank. They are just as good/bad as you are.
Seems like every topic you make is some anti Moira topic. Moira and Mercy are the same role. Moira isn’t competing against Zen. You are comparing apples and oranges.
Moira is fine in her current state. Maybe she could use some tweaking (I’m still frustrated she has no utility), but she’s a good choice if you want a survivable dps who can pump out mass amounts of healing. Is she niche? Yes. Is she unviable? No.
Lol done a couple but yeah right now i feel she needs a buff.
Everytime i get a Moira that rants about 4 medals i get rolled. Moira is not supposed to have gold damage, if she has it then the tanks and dps are underperforming because of the lacks of heals. The character with the lowest dps output in the game shouldnt have gold damage, even less in a masters game.
Agree on everything you said specially with the tweak thing, if feel a little rework on her orb would work, so that people stop spamming damage orb in detriment of team healing.
you dont sound like a masters player friend, moreover, overbuff say you are a low gold player. Anyways, yeah you can outheal everyone on masters with moira but you dont need to outheal to win games, when there is discord or anti nade. You can win one game with Ana who does like 2k less healing per 10 minutes but has a super good kit with sleep, anti and nano.
Lol moira is not about game sense, you dont require positioning and you dont have support skills so there are no moira synergy with most of comps. Bad positioning is not punished because you can press fade and get away.
She can do 100 dps to a single target without the possibility of missing or running out of ammo. Far from low damage output, especially if she’s really trying.
I think having her ability to heal through shields again is something that is warranted. She wasn’t overpowered with it. Most people considered her perfectly balanced at the time.
That being said, she is far from a throw pick even in her current state.
