Moira and Mercy's relationship?

So ever since Moira’s release, I’ve been hoping for some voice interactions between her and Mercy. They obviously have some sort of history, since they have matching sprays and such. I know Moira is sort of the ‘opposite’ of Mercy, but I’d love to know more on how Mercy and Moira were back in the Overwatch days. I have a few theories I’ve thought about, but I’d like to get to know more. Michael Chu, you up for a little tease or some sort of hint? :wink:

They wernt interacting with eachother at all. Moira was secretly put into blackwatch by reyes for his own goals. Thats how he became reaper. While mercy was helping with the super soldier program, he used that info and asked moira to enhance it with her own research.

This is true. Although, Moira was a part of Overwatch at one point, but they let her go later on. And then she joined Blackwatch.

I still find it confusing. Moira made Reyes all ghost like and stuff we know. But when Mercy asks reaper “what happened to you?” He’ll go “you tell me” like she had something to do with it.

True. When overwatch first came out, all we knew about the lore was that soldier 76 and reyes were both in a lab when something went terribly wrong. A lab explosion or something, if my memory serves well.

If I remember correctly, Reaper thinks Mercy is the one who made him that way. Well, brought him back to life when he was supposed to be dead.

Perhaps Moira used Mercy’s technology without her permission? Or maybe Mercy approved it without realising Moira’s true intentions? Or maybe it was a backstory that got retconned (Hopefully not)

Considering that Mercy disapproves of Ana simply altering her biotic tech to harm as well as heal, you’d figure she’d have some choice words for Moira, who has done far worse.

I think Mercy must have been aware of Moira. She asks what happened to Reaper and he says “you tell me” which, after the Moira reveal killed the “Mercy altered Gabe” theory, I took to mean as “You knew Moira, Ziegler. You should recognize her work.”

Reaper would have to be a pretty big idiot if thats the case. How could he not link the crazy top secret, controversial experiments Moira was doing to him to make him ghost like with the whole undeath thing-

I think it has more to do with undeath than Moira’s experiments. I always thought her experiments let him change his form and allow for insane reflexes/muscle movements, hence his ghost-like abilities and ult but Mercy was ultimately responsible for his undying state.
It seems more likely a rez gone wrong than a genetic miscalculation.

He says something in “Old Soldiers” like “They left you (Ana) to die. They left me to suffer.” I guess one COULD interpret that as accusing Overwatch of saving his life at a terrible cost, but he can’t possibly think anyone but Moira is responsible for him getting his powers, or for the eventual side effects and/or something happening to screw up how they worked.

That could be the case i suppose. Maybe she tried rezzing him when he supposedly died. But Moira’s ghost stuff didn’t interact well with Mercy’s Rez technology. Making him immortal or whatever the heck he is nowadays.

If i remember correctlt, they had a figth in the overwatch quarters (possibly some kind of civil war between blackwatch and overwatch) that made the building explode.
