Can you make McCree a little more realistic if you’re going to show him smoking all the time? Real smokers such as myself are constantly coughing and stuffed full of phlegm that makes it hard to breathe. Oh and he needs to be out of breath pretty much all the time too, since that really does happen.

Thanks!
EDIT:
P.S. I have negative posts because I went on a 300 post rant about Blizzard’s ineptitude that they quickly deleted. Stop asking.

Real issues right here.

His mobility makes me feel as though he definitely has smoker lungs. Then again, his voice is that of the angels instead of raspy whatever, so I see your point. Inaccurate portrayal.

Does mccree really smoke though? Is he faking it to look cooler?

It appears that he does inhale, yes. People only start out smoking to look cool. You know his backstory right? That guy started smoking young. He should sound like he’s struggling to breathe at all times while ambulatory. It’s not just realism either, when you show kids that super cool cowboy McCree is coughing and hacking up a lung while he’s puffing on that cigar, maybe they will think twice about it looking “cool.”

Is it smoke though?
Could he be vaping?

It’s supposed to be in the future.

A cinematic clearly shows a cigar he’s puffing on causing a bunch of barrels of fireworks to go off all at once, so it’s pretty safe to say that it is a lit tobacco product, friend. Well, I’m assuming that it’s tobacco. I doubt Blizzard will ever confirm or deny.

mccree have lungs implants of future. He doesn’t have lungs cancer (anymore)

But that would be lazy and there’s still the whole problem of showing kids that smoking is super cool and there are no consequences because McCree does it!

Thats why his roll was on a longer cooldown, he must get mad sweats from doing that as a smoker

I have a feeling that McCree’s health is well in hand…

The ESRB rating is T for use of tobacco, that p much confirm it.

No wonder why the only mobility he has is that pathetic rolling.

Yeah man I feel really cool while I struggle with an addiction I don’t really like that much that actually causes me physical discomfort and makes me constantly worry that I might end up with emphysema or worse, lung cancer, yet I just can’t stop.

I’d rather kids not get the impression that this is something to glorify, because it’s really not.

He has that interaction with mercy that basically confirms he smokes.
It went something like:
MERCY: “Mccree you know smokings bad for you?”
MCCREE: “I have faith that you can patch me back up doc.”

To be fair, it makes sense they’d be able to cure anything, maybe things like smoking don’t even matter in the OW universe, at least while you’re working for OW/ the military and have access to their healing.

Yeah but in the real world where there is no Caduceus Staff or other super sci-fi technologies to patch you right back up and your odds of surviving cancer still aren’t that high, it’s probably best if we don’t give anybody the idea that smoking is awesome.

Should Reaper be also deleted from game? Cause he’s shown like super cool edgelord who kills people, do you want your kids to kill people with shotguns?

There’s a pretty big difference though, and you are comparing apples to oranges: nobody actually stays “dead” in this game. With all of the other games that explore “death” in even more intimate ways, this game is nothing. Essentially, the kids know it’s not real death. Nobody is actually dying.
With smoking on the other hand, it creates a different sort of association in the developing brain. Some eleven year old might really like McCree for example, and might think McCree looks cool with a cigar hanging out of his mouth, and think that if they smoke, they will look cool like McCree.

I hate to admit it, but one of the reasons I picked up cigarettes in the first place was because I hoped it would help me find friends. Turns out it doesn’t, and it doesn’t actually make you look cool. Unless you’re McCree.
