Not sure if this has ever been brought up on the forum, but what do you all think of a modifier/compensation for when you lose with a leaver? It would need to be balanced on the amount of games so people can’t abuse it. So, maybe it checks if you have received this compensation in the last 10 or 20 games and if not you lose less progress. I think it would help alleviate a bit the frustration of having lost just because someone left.
Beyond some pittance of a consolation like a cosmetic rank protection or a like 1-2% rank protection which in the grand scheme of things will be meaningless but might take some sting out of the mental aspect of it you can’t really do anything imo without abuse.
just take comfort in knowing over time you gain more than you lose from leavers (statistically it’s more likely for the enemy to have a leaver than you if you consider yourself the constant ‘non-leaver’).
I think it could be nice if blizz added an offer draw option in the tab menu. Unobtrusive and does not pause the match beyond maybe some little symbolic “offer draw vote initiated” in the corner of your screen and if the entire lobby (minus 1 person) says okay then the match can end in a draw.
That way in the cases of an OBVIOUS spin bot aim cheater or a leaver etc if everyone in the lobby agrees you can draw the match. Best solution I can think of with 0 victims.
Just today I had 2 games (update they became 3 just right now lol) where my teammates left while enemy team had none, leavers are becoming more and more frequent that OW1 so a 5% protection in the deranking or upranking is necessary more than ever
losing not because of your Performance is a good thing. You cannot win all of them, but knowing you lost because of other factor basically tells the game it should let you smurf.
So its not a negative at all, your games won’t get harder and you didn’t lose because of your skill.
