Moderator in game

Should we have moderator following a certain set of rules to either cancel games or insta ban player for being toxic or throwing

Would be nice to at least have someone actively watching the Looking For Group games to ban everyone joining “not winning”, “road to bronze” and other obvious thrower groups.

How would you propose the logistics of that work? Given there are quite literally thousands of games of Overwatch being played every day, there would have to be a significant number of people hired in order to even conceive such an idea. I can’t imagine the cost of that.

Any player can instantly report a group title or custom game title if that group or lobby is engaged in activities that violate the Blizzard Code of Conduct. Simply click the little chevron icon next to the BattleTag of the group/lobby creator and select (“Report Group/Title”). It has been in my observation that Blizzard quickly acts on these when reported.

Are you genuinely asking or is this a statement?

If you were actually asking.
Giving certain players (for example) who would apply to be moderator of level 4 or 5 behavior statues could accelerate the filtering process of reporting or have the authority to ban people from comp. This would facilitate the filtering process and clean out the bad apples faster.
This would also let people know that there are people capable of taking action if they so dedice to start being toxic or sit on a payload for en entire match.

True, but I don’t have a good way of reporting every player who joined said group. I can’t report users in a group outside of the title holder without joining it. I don’t want to report only the host, but everyone involved in said thrower groups.

You wanna hire a hundred thousand or more people in MODERATION of all places?

With that kind of man power OW2 would be done and wed already be looking at like OW5.

Not to mention their salary would outweigh the revenue from the sales drastically.

Seems like you did not understand what I wrote would you mind clarifying that for me so I can help you understand what I have suggested? Also instead of finding what doesn’t work with the idea why not suggest an alternative solution if you are interested in the conversation and want to contribute to it.

Sounds like a cop out way to get others to draw up ideas for you.

You want a moderator that cancels games and bans cheaters or toxic people, aka with one per game I dont think you realize how much that adds up to.

You are free to interpret that however, you want.

What I want is for player who want to help with moderation to have access to certain privileges to help facilitate and accelerate the clean up process.

Give players mod privilege?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

No.

Players cant make the call of what’s cheating and what isnt half the time.

You’re gonna get like half the playerbase banned on false accusation.

To be short on the topic, the answer is no.

are you trying to understand or do you just want to argue? Because I’m not feeling like we are connecting here.

You want “select” players to be given the privilege to ban other players for cheating and toxicity

Essentially mod privilege

I’m not attempting to heat up the debate, but it really sounds like you arent thinking your ideas through

What I want is to “facilitate” or maybe have the privilege to accelerate the reporting process and or have the ability to ban certain players yes. One is not exclusive to the other.

Not saying that everyone should be able to. As mentioned before certain player who have achieved a certain level of trust and renown could apply to help mod the community.

The behavior that I’m talking about isn’t cheating its toxic players in comp.

Players cant tell cheating from cracked gameplay.

Give players that power and you got a LOT of false bans on your hands.

This isnt a minecraft server.

This is irrelevant I think it could help and to know you have a potential moderator in your game could be a deterrent to a lot of throwers and toxic players.

You dont determine what is and isnt relevant.

This is a massive game, not some server ran by a bunch of college students. You cant go giving away mod to players because players themselves dont know “cheating” from the real thing.

Ah so rule by fear, oh great we gotta be afraid to play our game now.

Say there was a good system out there to accelerate the ban process would you like them to use it?

Ban process is already quick enough.

Do bad enough crap and you get banned days within the action.

Cheat and the anticheat picks you up and bans you faster than any “moderator” could actually decide what he THINKS is cheating.

you keep bringing this up but its not what we are talking about so I’m going to ignore this and we can stop talking about it.

If we are talking about carrots and you bring an apple in the conversation yes it is irrelevant.

You seem to confuse the intention with the cause.
First of all. People can already get banned for being toxic players this would accelerate the process. (so the “fear” factor being already existant doesn’t change)
