I genuinely think the mmr system in this game is broken how on earth a gm widow that’s getting a lot of crits and has an accuracy way superior than let’s say for example gold or plat widow accuracy get to climb as if they are gold or plat it isnt fair and it ruins the game for everyone and doesnt help u get better at all I feel like they should fix it for example a smurf account that has a 90% accuracy gets an sr boost to a rank that fits them

There is a big difference between getting 90% accuracy on bronze players versus 90% accuracy on GMs.

There is a clear skill difference when one plat widow of same sr as other widow, has 50% more accuracy than the same equal sr widow
It is broken, but high accuracy doesn’t automaticly mean you are good … you can just bodyshot tanks non stop without killing anything.

This already happens for players below diamond. Not only widows but all characters. If you perform better than your peers you get extra sr for each win and lose less sr on each loss because of your performance.
I tried to give an example with accuracy I also mention on the topic of this crits as another ik all stats matter and that’s kinda of what I wanna point out
Don’t get me wrong, i am sure there are a lot of players misplaced …. to low or to high … but stats alone don’t say if you are good or bad …. which is why the mmr system doesn’t work.
having A grades in 2nd grade maths doesn’t make you an A grade in a university masters program in math

Yea, but if 70% of the games you lose is because your Rein charged into a 1v5 for the 10th time, your Reaper thinks he is a sniper or your Moira has no left mouse button than maybe you should be higher. I have hundreds of hours on Mercy and Sombra and this two heroes are awesome if you want to have a look what is going one …. most of the matches people lose in gold/silver/plat is not because they are bad, it’s because most people can’t play as a team and a lot of players are not doing their job and there are some players who get held back … or boosted.
yeah and that doesn’t happen on the enemy teams too?
just seize the opportunity to kill that enemy rein charging into you and you’re up
the secret is: the enemy is just as stupid as you and your team are
don’t be that playmaker trying to 1v5 yourself because you think you are better, punish everyone on the enemy team who does because you are better than that one person and you’ll win consistently

My point is that the skill lvl of players in this ranks is like day and night. And what happens a lot is that one team steamrolls the other and you will have terrible stats what ends in high sr loss and little sr gain. When i have a match where both teams are somewhat equally good i lose only Little sr or win much more. To be fair to Blizzard … this is something that can’t really be fixes by an algorithm on for a huge part it’s the player base fault.
yeah well those games are definitely more random and players more inconsistent, that’s true
truth. I have a 7 shot, 6 kill potg against bronze players. I’ve never even gotten 5 at higher ranks
how do you know that they are a smurf? i’ve been called a smurf widow many times in gold and i can tell you my widow is gold tier at best. its all about how you are playing. If you are walking in a straight line against a widow with no rein to cover you then it’s easy to headshot you
its because people compain when they die to dps with better skill, who would normally rank up to play with other players of the same mechanical skill. so they dumb the game down so no skill healers and tanks are OP, so now dps with high mechanical skill cant climb. then they complain about ‘smurfs’ in low/mid ranks.
They do, though. GM+ gain insane amounts of SR below diamond thanks to PBSR.
I have played with one smurf for over 10 games in a row and he has been on the same sr level relatively for quite sometime and he is 100% a smurf he is yet to get to diamond and stop destroying me or the enemy team for me with widow i am not picking widow for salt or anything but that is what happened

We dont know how broken it is because this system is like the biggest secret of the world. But for sure its very exploitable.
Another reason to use MORE personal SR.
Get the smurfs outta here.
Get people to their ranks faster.
Give more pbsr.
They won’t do it though. They want people to feel frustrated and to keep chasing that SR. A lot of people would quit if they actually were happy with their ranks.
idk what rank yall play at but smurfs are like unicorns when i play, either that or they are just so bad that i dont see them ever lol.
