Well, I tried Technical Support, but no one answered, and so I’m braving this board in the hopes that someone can give me a few answers. Recently I decided to check my stats on Overbuff and they are missing close to 8000 competitive matches for me. (Xbox One player, FYI.) I’m not going to go into too much detail unless someone has ideas on here, because I’ve been bounced back and forth and back and forth between Blizzard and Overbuff, both saying that it’s the other’s fault and that I need to bring it up with the other one, and I’m plain tired of saying the same thing over and over.
Honestly, I don’t really care about Overbuff anymore, I just want to make sure that Blizzard has correct stats for me, but it’s been impossible to find anyone who can confirm that what they have is the same as what I have on my console.
My question is: do your lifetime stats affect your SR gains and losses?
I mean, if my competitive record is roughly 4050-3950 but Blizzard only had 106-96-4 (the numbers Overbuff is reporting), would my SR result be the same after a match? Would I be paired up with/against different players? If not, I don’t care, but if anyone knows definitively that it would, and that therefore I might not be ranked correctly, lemme know. Thanks in advance.
I mean, stats don’t affect your SR . There are some slight variations in how much you gain or lose depending on your performance in that match, but your rank is mostly based on winning or losing.
You are matched with other players based on MMR which is a stat you can’t see. It’s basically a number that the game gives you based on how well you’ve been playing.
I took a break for months from ranked, learned how to actually aim, and got my silver DPS account into plat in a week. My MMR is higher than that account’s SR.
Basically, ignore all stats, and just focus on winning and improving.
But this is my point exactly.
If (as it is on Overbuff) Blizzard doesn’t think I’ve played a game since July 2018 [I can’t post links, but you can go to Overbuff if you want to see what I mean], how can they determine my MMR? Every game I play now would be computed based on the false premise that I haven’t played Overwatch for almost a year.
Also, I can aim just fine, thx, but I appreciate the pro tip.
Again, not looking for tips or advice, trying to resolve a possible technical issue. I stopped caring about my stats like 7,000 games ago, and I only went on Overbuff a few days ago for the first time out of curiosity.
MMR is used for matchmaking and is closely followed by your SR. It will have no impact on you particularly as you are already above diamond.
Overbuff (and other 3rd party stat-tracking sites) were never super reliable to begin with and private profiles really killed them
Oh I saw the 4000 and thought it’s his SR.
Maybe you weren’t missing stats Jeff, maybe it’s because you throw matches in competitive.
