The revival of classic OW1 was so enlightening as a player who’s been around since day 1. It felt so nice to be able to play without fear of a leaver ban if the game was a dud. To play and actually feel powerful again. To carry a whole team solo because the abilities were so unbalanced but also somehow balanced. Its too vanilla now. Its also super stressful feeling for some reason. Classic was a breath of fresh air for many players. Classic also appeals to a whole different generation of players since OW has been around THAT long. I felt like I could connect with older players like me and that’s nice TBH. I think you should implement a permanent classic version with updates as they came. So us old timers can relive the experience but maybe with the option to go back to certain timelines of the game as you wish or something. Like a time walking mechanic. I think it’s a huge, missed opportunity to not just have OW 1 as a standalone game or mode. I saw so many OG players that came back specifically to play it again. Ones who haven’t played since whatever patch of OW2 came out or ow2 in general etc. I think its the right move and owed to your loyal Overwatch fan base and also monetarily makes sense if you can get players to come back and be interested in Blizzard again or buy from the shop.

Classic should have remained as a permanent mode.
I think they should have rotated through various eras of balance until settling in on the fan favourites, though I’d take even the “Widow/Zarya in literally every single match” launch version over OW2.

classic was trash i was the only healer i ended up leaivng it the game was not like it was at all back int he day this so called lasic was the failure of a failure of a director
A 2-2-2 classic would have been phenomenal, IMO. Missed opportunity there.
