Mirrorwatch must be a permanent arcade mode!

Bro…

Finally, the Overwatch 2 team managed to deliver an arcade mode to promote the skins that was good and really fun.

The mirrorwatch concept was well designed (except for echo and tank heroes except Rein (rein is good), I thought it was the weakest so far).

But it’s still a lot of fun to play this mode. Bastion and Mercy were the most incredible. Bastion spawns PVE slicers in the middle of the map, and mercy is very powerful.

I vote for this mode to remain permanent in the arcade rotation! :raised_hand:

Having a blast with this! Actually think a lot of these changes would be great in the base game. Sombra feels SO much better to play as (and even a bit better to play against!)

Let’s not talk crazy now.

Mode’s pretty good overall. I mean Mercy ult team wiping is silly fun. Or exploding the souls of their fallen teammates for a kill. Doom? Kind of a champ. Zarya’s just Zarya (I take this back her slow-mo projectile and everything I don’t like it but I have far too many years of normal Zarya so I think that’s messing with my ability to function). :frowning: Full aggro Rein is something with Bap’s ult? lol Wild.

Okay, I appreciate stealth is still a big problem and getting deleted instantly isn’t fun but playing with your teammates, providing a bit of support and not constantly getting hacked (to me at least) is a much better direction for the character.

I’ve only played 4 or 5 games but virus has little point, generally gets blocked by a rando shield wherever and whenever. Your ult is support. Your hack is support. Feels out of place for dps in general. Now if they wanted to make Overwatch Sombra a support - well that’d line up more.

Every game with a Sombra on the team, either the Sombra switches or they lose at least in the ones I’ve played.

Not that I care abotu balance here and I do like that Sombra has the option to boost teammates. But does it feel better than normal Sombra to play? Nah not at all. Getting a hack off at all felt funky too.

I played now in Tank role. To be honest is not bad and is not good. Buts there’s the Tank role here. No big changes like Mercy or Bastion but meh. Best roles are DPS and Support in this mode.

Well, guess I’m coming at it as a primarily a support player. I just feel way more useful and prefer the direction. Obviously won’t appeal to everyone but it’s more fun to me. I’ve only played a few games on her but won every game. Maybe she should be a support character!

I think that definitely would add up yes.

The changes to the individuals heroes are pretty cool, but the mode lets you only play those heroes and its honestly really not fun at all to me. I don’t know what they’ll even learn from this mode as the interactions are within limited heroes and its only among modified heroes anyway.

Maybe they should consider a mode where the whole roster is actually playable?

Here is an idea - how about the whole roster is made available but the mirrorwatch versions can be chosen like a spec?

I appreciate the content but every single event they’ve done has fallen super flat to me.

Its a limitation of overwatch engine.

So nothing changed then

As a support main, I love this Sombra.

From what I’ve seen, the Sombras give up because they keep trying to play Sombra like they normally do.

So they go back behind the enemy team and then just stand there confused as to why their hack isn’t working or why their ult did nothing.

All they have to do is press F1 and read a bit and they’d learn, but the average FPS player isn’t exactly brilliant.

Every time a limited time event comes out people want it added as a mode. Every April Fool’s patch is like that. This one is fine at first, but the novelty will wear off. My first 5 games pretty fun, but we won all those.

My last game was 3 people trolling / clueless vs a 5 stack playing the actual game. :person_shrugging: The sort of highs and lows of the hero kits stick out a bit there.

I just noticed my hack was available on teammates (which I figured might be the case with Good Sombra) and then I did as you said and pressed F1. We’re not all lost causes, just 99.999999901%.

I guess my problem with Sombra is I still need my team to be present and/or aware. So I really don’t like her in that mode.

All supports and other heroes i’ve mentioned received good changes.

An odd limitation considering we can play both versions of mercy right this moment, so I respectfully disagree its a limitation, at least one that is difficult to overcome. They can be lazy about it and it could be like selecting a hero, leave the “spec” aspect out and make it directly selectable in the roster.

Not for nothing, did they not figure anything at all during the many years of ow pve development? This would have been a pretty basic concept to have in production given they pitched the entire premise of OW2 with talents in mind.

Are not same mercy, the mirrorwatch mercy uses a copy of original mercy logic with modified abilities.

Yeah not the same mercy. So put in a new icon in the support roster that is evil mercy. Unless there is some very detailed information that you somehow know but isn’t known outside of blizz developers I’m not seeing what the limitation is here.
