Worst to best
- Ana - Just feels like you’re playing base ana mostly. Headshots and the leap are kind of fun but only mildly useful, definitely not worth the tradeoff of your ult being terrible now (and I think your grenade might be worse too?)
- Tracer - You can play this exactly like normal tracer and it’d take you a while to even notice anything is different as the passive is rather subtle. The ability to trade health for extra blinks can be useful, but tracer already had enough blinks as is
- Brig - The charge mechanic on shield bash is fun. Pulling people in roadhog style is fun but is hurtful compared to her normal flail in more situations than it is useful. This is also just not a great cast to be playing brig into
- Zarya - The damage and knockback done by the shields is so subtle that I wouldn’t even notice it is there if I didn’t read the ability descriptions. Right click is kind of fun and anti-grav also has some cool usecases despite being a massive downgrade from normal grav
- Zenyatta - This is the last of the “feels too similar to normal” heroes. The emp field ult is cool and the poison is kind of fun, but you’re still mostly playing just like normal zen
- Reinhardt - Being able to hold up bap-ult window for a while and then when it gets broken you go crazy with fast move speed faster hammer speed is fun, but it really needs to have some kind of downside. The only real nerf to his kit is the harder to land ult, but even then that does more damage to compensate.
- Bastion - This is the only hero I feel they might have changed too much, like it really doesn’t feel like you’re playing bastion at all, but I don’t like bastion so that’s not really a big deal. The ult isn’t all that powerful, but summoning PvE units into the game is just really cool.
- Echo - They really went all out on making echo a war machine. She is less defensive with less airtime and not getting any type of healing when using her ult, but all her cooldowns have some offensive benefit to make up for it.
- Doomfist - Doomfist if he was actually a tank instead of the abomination we have in the live game right now. The only problem I have with him is that having the tank most of the playerbase has no clue how to play as 1 of 3 options for the mode means a lot of matches where your tank effectively does nothing
- Mercy - exploding souls and having your right click damage enemies is just so much fun. Only problem is the ult is the most broken antifun thing in the mode, if she targets you with the ult it’s time to die, might as well not even bother pressing buttons on your keyboard anymore. She still doesn’t feel too OP overall since losing out on rez is a huge deal
- Widow - Shield is kind of crazy and basically giving enemies an extra, bigger head during her ult is also crazy, but very fun. What keeps her balanced is that this is not a great roster to be playing widow against
- Sombra - This just feels like the perfect balance of keeping what is fun in the original character while giving them a good twist that fits the theme. You aren’t quite as good at jumping enemies but can buff allies to make up for it. The psuedo-support sombra just works really well
