You meant Reaper’s death blossom after teleport?

Mercy and Zarya as well. And I don’t think baby Bob counts but I have to say it.

That’s why survival perks exist. If you find something annoying, and can’t deal with it then you build armor/shields/overhealth.

The survival section is full of mostly useless items though lol

It takes like 3 survival items to equal the value of 1 dmg item. Thats why everyone is picking dmg builds cus survival items dont scale well

You just get into late game with a tonne of health but you cant actually kill anything whilst the enemy who have been building full dmg can 2 just tap you

If they want people to take the survival items they have to make them equal in value to dmg items. Whether that means buffing survival items or nerfing dmg items. At the moment there is 0 reason to build survival when dmg items scale the way they currently do. The only correct way to play is build dmg and kill them before they kill you

+25 shields or armor on a survival item isnt going to cut it when a hero like cass can still 2 tap you on 600 hp or each firestrike doing 300+ dmg

I tried to do a juno torpedo build but instead of dmg focus like everyone is doing i tried to make it more about healing and survival. She has a item that whenever you use torpedoes you get overhealth equal to 50% of your shields. So i stacked a load of shield items, converted 100 health into shield etc. so everytime i used torpedoes i got like 500+hp. Didnt matter. Cass just 2 tapped me through it.

I sold it all and went the standard torpedos exploding, ability dmg etc. we immediately started winning cus killing things wins games.

Yeah but these ‘mini ult perks’ seem so tacked on and last minute… there has to be something else they can do if they give it more thought.

I mean this is the first iteration of Stadium with a small pool of heroes. As they iterate on it more and the design philosophy evolves, we might see more interesting and unique concepts that don’t involve “Soldier fires his helix rocket and gets 1 second of aimbot.”

Yeah that’s what I’m counting on it’s just kind of lame to have to wait for that to happen.

I wish they would’ve let the player base at large test it more before they fully released it. I wouldn’t have had a problem waiting longer if it meant we all had a little input and were helping shape what it would eventually become.

But to just release it like “here you go! Here is this new game mode, hope you like it!” as if it’s a finished product doesn’t excite me given the current issues.

It’s like seeing a new release on steam, but you’re like “no way I’m paying full price for that… guess I’ll wait a year or so until there is a nice sale”.

Genji’s does half the damage of a normal blade, plus requires melee range, unless you go for the projectile - which also does half damage.

Zarya’s isn’t really Gravity Surge, it’s basically a low powered Disruptor Shot.

Still very effective, though.

Sorta.

The healing powers that get stacked with Weapon or Ability power end up healing so much damage, that there’s not much one can do if they didn’t similarly stack that. With Moira able to toss out 4 Biotic Healing Orbs of 300 + 100 + 100 + 100 capacity, you’re easily needing to pump out more than 600 damage; and there’s just no damaging ability that can do that, even with stacked power.

Highest it’ll go is 240. Still enough for a near one-shot, but yeah.

It’s actually .75. And that gets you an additional 120-ish damage… or basically another Helix Rocket’s worth of damage.

The real problem is when you stack it with Weapon Power and Fire rate, then you can get up to 250 damage per mini-Visor’s worth of damage.

They did test it for a solid month before they released.

They largely tested with long-time pros and players who understand the game, not with players who don’t really get how Overwatch actually works. Which is a problem into itself, since the game doesn’t really communicate it that well.

Absolutely. Certain team comps lead to enemy builds where it feels like there’s generally nothing you can do about it, like a one-shot Ashe build when you have a Junker Queen. If she’s popping off with shots, you can’t even approach her or peek without getting your head blasted off. With no shield or defense matrix, it feels like you can’t really engage with her and I hope these little things are sanded down and addressed more down the line.

Some of it would be better if the survival branch was better. If they ever add Widow, they’re really going to need a legendary perk that’s like “If you have full health, any incoming damage that would eliminate you reduces your health to 1 instead. Cooldown 20 seconds.” or something would alleviate some of these.

What im getting from this is…you tried to do a torpedo build. Failed one waym tried another torpedo build and it worked

Which parts of the shop are unique to each hero, is it just the 8 abilities across the top?

Heroes have their own unique powers. Each hero also has a selection of unique and generic perks per branch. The unique ones have a portrait of some kind while the generics are just an icon.

No. I tried something that isnt the default way everyone is playing to see

  1. If some other build on juno other than that 1 dmg torpedo build works
  2. If not going full dmg was viable

My results is no to both. If you play juno the only way to build is dmg torpedoes because its the only viable strat. Building anything but dmg is pointless cus no amount of survival items stops the level of dmg that can be outputted

wouldn’t it depend how the opponents play?

Another issue with the mode. The imbalance between heroes

Some heroes have. Others do not have any unique options.

Ana for instance has no unique weapon items. She only gets the generic basic items. So going for a only weapon build on ana has a very low value ceiling cus you dont have those top tier options like other heroes

Really big oversight from the devs

As well juno infinite flying is ridiculous broken, should be removed.

I would like to say my favorite mini ult is Mei blizzard. Boulder go brrr

This is definitely something that will change with time. They even said they plan to update heroes each season with new stuff to shake the mode up. Just because Ana doesn’t have any unique weapon perks now doesn’t mean she won’t in the future.

Just think its a pretty poor launch state

Every hero at launch should have released in an equal state with equal build opportunity but things like this heavily restrict a heroes viability in the mode
