Might just become a Juno main

I don’t like the character’s personality or lore in the slightest…, but

She’s far more fun than any of the other Supports (aside from lucio who she is on equal footing with) and Reaper is just not fun anymore. Might as well enjoy playing a hero who can actually zoom around and bring value to the team, rather than playing the DPS passive spreader.

I also don’t see how anyone could perceive her as weak. I think anyone saying that just doesn’t understand how to utilize mobility, so… skill issue. Anyway, time to dump another 900 hours into a hero, except this time they actually exist in the developers’ minds, so I’ll get buffs when needed.

she doesn’t feel that weak in my experience, just extremely clunky

That I agree with. I don’t like not being able to move downwards without letting go of the ability.

Junos mobility is a joke and her utility is pretty lackluster. She is very fun to play and it FEELS like you do much, but in the end almost every other support will do more. The impact of Juno in a game is negligible.

You cant even outrun a Ram… while having 225 HP… I mean… what?

Btw, Reaper is currently pretty good, so I think you own mind games are holding you back.

I can’t get into her style of healing, which sounds dumb, I’m just too lazy and braindead to do that much aiming. Her ult seems kinda incredible though.

Personally? I’ve really been loving lifeweaver lately.

The 275 health means i can live just long enough to react to sombra. If you position yourself well enough and use your petals right, don’t waste your dash, etc, you can become nearly unkillable. I once went a whole game of push with 1 death and 17k healing.

And as controversial as it is, I love Life Grip. It’s my favorite utility of any support in the game because I can essentially “do over” and rewrite someone’s actions if it was a bad call. The tricky part to learning it is that death happens so quickly in this game that you can’t use life grip as someone is “about” to die (unless they’re a tank), but basically look into the future and see their death about 2-3 beforehand.

If you get a thumbs up after a grip, you know you did a good job.

I don’t hate Juno myself, but beyond the obvious waifu-hook of a character she is which I find a little obnoxious, her utility feels quite bad which is a tough sell in this meta.

I disagree. Maybe it’s different in coordinated play, but as a solo queue-er, I enjoy being able to directly influence my team’s engages.

Also her ability to escape scenarios is insane. First you jump, then you glide boost, then you jump again, then you hyper ring, then you float, and by the time you touch the ground again, you get glide boost back up with another double jump. Not to mention that you can even pepper down your enemies, since her side to side strafing is far more difficult to hit with speed boost.

I preform well with Reaper, but the issue is my preforming is the same as it was before. The only scenario that the spread reduction improved was scenarios I didn’t need help in anyway.

If I’m already within 5m, I’ve won the fight, so an additional meter of space within 10m isn’t that useful. Certainly not enough to magically boost him to S-tier like some people claim, regardless of other heroes getting 225 HP nerfs.

I like her aiming, personally. It feels more skillful than hitting shots with Ana.

Idk where I’d say her ult is at. I use it kind of like a Bap window where I just place it down for myself as a self-sustain ability, unless I have a teammate that would benefit greatly from it like Reaper D.B.

Can’t say I agree.

If you main Juno, you have to accept her Martian lore and personality too! :triumph:

I don’t mind the concept, I mind the lack of character and spine. She’s just bland, uninspiring, and they utilize her anxiety as if it’s something people want to relate to.

Kit’s fun, but the character’s just another OW2 classic.

I find her very fun to play, despite me pretty much maining her since she launched to get this annoyingly-elusive achievement of hers. It’s bad enough relying on your team to actually be in the same place at the same time, but you basically need the enemy team to do so as well.

So many times I’ve gotten 7 people with a possible 8.

But regardless I think she is fun - even when going for the achievement, I’ve gotten most heals in the game multiple times, along with multiple POTGs as well too, so I can imagine if I play her without the achievement on my mind.

i dont really like any of the personalities of the recent heroes ngl, except for Mauga.

A lot of the ‘good guys’ feel so fake happy. that they’re artificially joyful all the time and its kinda sickening to hear. It’s not really like I’m against happiness, it’s just, everything they say feels so fake, like you’re pulling the string on a doll. I can sorta get Lifeweaver’s personality, but I wish he cared a little bit more, or looked like, he was on the run or with a bounty on his head instead of a super model. He’s good looking, and I get that’s the point, but I’d like something cool or somewhat accurate to his circumstances.

I don’t really like characters that use Anxiety or some other illness or identity as a form of their personality. I wish there were more subtle ways the devs could’ve presented her anxiety other than her audibly telling us she has to calm down or asking for advice. Why not have other heroes note that she’s freaking out a little too much and give tips instead of her nonchalantly asking them how they do it, etc.

It would have been a nice little detail for her gun to shake a little, or her hand to do something as she walks back to the point/team to show US she is anxious or afraid, or have emotions.

The only character that felt like had depth lately was Mauga and Baptiste.

I do think this is something they would Like to push for according to her voicelines. I have heard so so much of “This is where I learned Not to drink soy sauce…” and “I have no idea what is going on!” has so much 2010’s XD so random energy

You know how people in Antartica are developing their own accents? It’d be cool if Juno had that too, except some sorta feels like she’s talking like Starfire

Hard disagree on this. I think her speed rings are one of the best cooldowns in the game, especially in solo queue. You can use them to get your team to do what you want them to do, and they’ll thank you for it because they get a speed buff. You can get deep into player psychology, but the gist of it is: Speed ring is a big “HEY COME HERE AND GET FREE CANDY” for your team, making Juno an incredible shot caller without using any comms.

And that’s to say nothing of how you can use the speed rings during and after a fight, as well.

If you said this almost any other season I would understand. But he’s really good this season. Why now? I’m confused.

I have ALWAYS wanted another option for a support with a speed boost because I Do Not want to learn Lucio, so I love Juno for that

It feels great, like everything on Juno, but the actual value is minimal. This is why its important to point it out. Juno is mega fun to play and everything feels like it does things… even it does not.

The reality is that Lucio is the better speed option in every single scenario and will help people much more than Juno. Does it feels better? No. Is it better? Yes.

Two different things. I play Juno, because she is fun and not because she is good. She feels like a new Mercy, where people will play her regardless if she is good or not. To have such a character in a bad spot and low impact is dangerous, tho.

Lucio was the second support I ever learned* back in 2016, after Mercy. I’ve always liked playing him, but he can’t quite do what Juno does in solo queue. His speed is centered around him and the team isn’t really incentivized to play around him much. The speed ring gives a nice bright blue waypoint that everyone can see and really likes to play around.

It also helps that she can supply speed boost and healing at the same time.

* Technically my second support was Symmetra but she doesn’t really count as a “support”.

the only thing i dont like about Juno is her ult. I feel like I rarely get value out of it. before i started playing her, i intially thought you can aim her ult sorta like bastion q without going out of 3rd person (like you can set the circle anywhere in your LOS kinda thing).

I hadn’t realized it just drops ON TOP of you and moves so freakishly fast off of you, so you probably on will get half of its value in a teamfight

I hate the torps much more… they take time to come up, to charge, to fly and then there is a animation for it to go out again. If you cancel your torps you are suck in a THREE SECOND ANIMATION where you cant do anything (if you also wanted to let them arm). This is unacceptable and I stopped using them completely. Its never worth to use them instead of healing with your weapon. Its a trap ability that has again the factor: Feels really good, but is actually 100% trash and a contender for the worst support ability in the game.

oh yeah, the torpedos are Very very inconvenient. You have to stop healing in order to procc regen torps + ult charge torps and the delay ends up often killing my team, so I find myself only using it at the start of fights.

The regen doesn’t even feel worth the ‘lock on’ and delay. Also wanting to cancel them after 2 seconds just to get a 10 second cd doesnt feel good at all. It feels pretty unjustified for the LONG lock on and the time the torps travel when Moira, Bap, and Ana have ways to multiply their healing output.

Bap and Ana have the excuse theyre immobile horizontally, but her horizontal movement only somewhat gets me out of dive situations in the first place. It’s actually somewhat easy to hit her in the air as DPS
