So I live in Cape Town, South Africa. Usually, when playing overwatch blizzard would assign me a European server but now with the inclusion of the middle east servers (very nice of them) I get better ping but no one wants to or can speak English (I don’t speak Arabic) so I cant communicate effectively with my teammates.
TLDR: please add an option for me to not play in middle east servers

Your best alternative is to use a VPN Service to manually route to the more distant France or Nederland servers. Please note, even if you do this you may have worse ping than what you originally had before the Middle East server came about.
Not exactly. There are three PC BattleNet regions, Americas, Europe, and Asia. Each region has multiple datacenters they can connect to. For example in Europe there are three locations. When you log onto Overwatch, the game will quickly take time to ping all locations for the fastest possible connection and then determine your matchmaking around that server location.
Many low-populated regions like the Bahrain server in the Middle East help give a better latency experience, but often include a larger variety of nationalities, making language barriers a common problem in text and voice communication. The best alternative around this is to group up with reliable friends or use the in-game communication wheel.
i am the new one with this same Problem Sorry but i always hated Middle East Servers Every time i Go in there we are 5v6 5v5 and someone leaves it takes more than 1 minute to fill that spot and everyime i Play i am against Level 10 level 21 level 40 level 19 So Low Level Everytime and They are so Much Better then me and Spamming Voice lines when they kill everyone and they are really Toxic in the chat copy pasting ez ez ez and when they are about to lose ,More than 3 people Leave that most of them are low level that Probably leave and Don’t really care about their account they don’t want to see the defeat screen lol i play with my Girlfriend all the time we are just 2 playing together she is from Eu and if she invites me or i invite her we ALWAYS go in the Middle East Servers no matter what we do and i am Tired of Trying so many like things from Forums blocking things in firewall so many times wanted to use a VPN but then didn’t wanted to because i might get worst ping. like i play good and Always was Better with what ping i had i was used to it and Honestly Nobody Asked for Middle East Servers and they guys thought it was a good idea . i don’t blame you and maybe some people like it but i just lost the passion to play Overwatch anymore and started to feel sad everyday and wished that they add so we can Choose that we want to Go to Middle Ease for Good Latency (Recommend) something Like that and then Go Europe for Fair Ping (Notrecommend) that be so good man i used to play Overwatch Everyday it was so much to had no problems and then they added Middle east Servers because Everyone wanted them so badly and there are Not other Worst Problems than this that people Cry about in Forums Everyday i hope you understand how i Feel Reading this long Messaged that took me 15 mins to Write and i hope you guys Find a Solution for it i would Really appreciate that
I have the same problem - only difference is that I play on console and I get this all the time. There’s no way to select which server you’d like to play on console and each map I’m matched with ME players. I went on a huge losing streak these last couple of days where I deranked again. At this point I feel like just quitting because it’s causing so much unhappiness even though I love this game.
