Microsoft rewards math

plz help my brain is broken and i can’t think this out. i know if i sit down and think about it enough it will come to me, but i figure you all could help me instead.

Microsoft rewards points to overwatch coin exchange options:

10,000 microsoft points would get me 1000 coins
1,800 microsoft points would get me 200 coins

i am pretty sure that cashing out in smaller installments would be BETTER and net me MORE overwatch coins than waiting till i get to 10,000 to cash out.

can someone help me confirm my math?

Yep, the 1.8k point option is the best choice

IIRC it’s a limited time discount though, so it’ll probably cost 2k once that’s over.

if you were to spend 1,800 points 5 times you can get 1000 coins which is 1,000 points less than spending 10,000 points for 1,000 coins. getting 10K is more time consuming than just getting 1,800

Check out https://rewards.bing.com/! It works for PC too! So far, I’ve got 400 OW coins from spending a minute a day faffing around doing Google Bing™ searches for farmyard animals.

it’s microsoft trying to get people to use bing search and microsoft edge browser by giving points that can be redeemed. you can get more coins from bing search than from the battlepass, because that’s how filthy greedy kotick is :joy:

What’s the best way to generate reward points?

They haven’t even officially bought them and are already saving this cash grab game by doing this. Unless Blizzard increases the coin rewards I’d rather do this over and over again instead of torturing myself on unreasonable challenges for pitiful coin amounts.

For the points for simply doing seaches, I do a Bing search for “cow”, then click on all the bubbles that pop up like health, breeds, facts etc., as each one also counts as a search. By doing that for “cow”, “horse”, “sheep” and “goat”, that’s all the searches I need to do to get my daily quota of points.

Its both console and PC. On Pc you can search on bing or do daily sets that give you points. On xbox consoles you have a reward app which gives you weekly sets to finish for points, or gives you little “tasks” to do such as “check out this new game in the store” for a few points. Each month you can get 2500 points by doing a monthly set which includes getting 3 achievements in any game, searching on bing, etc. And with points you can either trade them in for sweepstakes entries, certain in game currency (Roblox, minecraft, etc.), donations to various causes, gift cards to stores such as walmart, target, dunkin donuts, or xbox gift cards.

You can do the rewards more than once? I was thinking it was a one shot deal and have been working towards 10k.

there are daily rewards, log in streak rewards, weekly rewards, survey rewards, quiz rewards, search rewards, all sorts of stuff so you never run out of ways to get more. just maybe you use up all the dailies and have to log in tomorrow. some rewards have a daily limit, like search maxes out at 20 points earned per day?

Oh no, I meant the claims. I just claimed 2 of the 1,800 rewards. So I guess we can do this forever? I was saving up for the 10k. I thought maybe it’d only let me get one OW2 reward. Well, I guess I’ll be having BPs now, lol.

forever. though the 1800 may go up to 2000 if it’s a sale. yeah i will renew my battlepass with it, and maybe get a skin if i get enough and one i want comes back to the shop (unlikely, since blizzard’s business plan seems to be “oh you have coin for a skin that left the shop? TOO BAD! WE DON’T WANT YOUR COIN!”)

Yeah, but that’s better what I thought. I was thinking I could only claim it once, lol.

I usually look up a show or a movie cast and click on the actors.
