I dunno, Shatter bugs weren’t really helped by pros so Hook won’t necessarily be either. One can hope though.

that is true, i dont have much faith they are working on it as they have never acknowledged that it is a problem but at least a lot of people saw that

Has it always been this buggy or has this only been devolving all of the sudden?

I’ve played him occasionally, but consistently, since launch, and it feels like with each patch that floats by, he gets more and more bugs.

It’s only been this buggy sometime in the past 2 patches.

But it’s always been a buggy mess.

AND it really should cancel sideways momentum.

cant agree more, since the mobility creep has certainly hindered him.

for a long time its been terrible but its just getting worse for some reason

My reasonable wishlist for Hog:

  • Hook
    • All bugs fixed
    • Cancel all sideways momentum
    • Pull targets to 2.5m away instead of 3.5m
  • Secondary Ranged Shotgun
    • Ammo Reduced to 4
    • Reduce fire rate 25%
    • Increase damage per blast from 150 to 225 (I.e. 9 damage x25 pellets)
  • Primary Shotgun:
    • Ammo Reduced to 4

see i dont agree with you because with hog i want to see 0 nerfs i am sick of nerfs but he could use a lot of small buffs and bug fixes, just my opinion though

Well the ammo change is necessary because otherwise Hog would have excessively powerful shield shatter capabilities.

The rate of fire thing isn’t really a nerf because you can’t deliberately aim each shot when it’s really fast.

4 powerful shots you can aim is waay better than 5 spammy shots you can’t aim.

that is true for me i think he spends too much time reloading so i would go with 1 extra shot, 5-10% damage buff and obviously all his bugs fixed but either one is way better than hog is now

Well it would still be fine, because with better right click, you could do better prehook damage, and aftercombo damage.

Also a huge subtle difference is that 9 damage per pellet, with damage degradation is vastly superior to 6 per pellet.

Also when you can aim your shots, a lot less will be wasted.

to be fair, this puts basically everyone under 300/400 HP in OHK range, and if this is going to be the new norm, then there needs to be some compensation.

I don’t want to start counternerfing his buffs, so I feel it’s best to leave it as it is. If it’s an absolute must, then I could be fine with 3m.

Which scares me because I have flashbacks of when he had his original damage and how he was a sniper if you were 7m away from him.

This then goes back to the days where he was solely reliant on his OHK for kills.

I don’t think is the correct path to take.

Well the main thing is that the left click would be as it is now. So the hook combo would be about as it is now, but less RNG.

As for what you mentioned Roadhog being a short range sniper. That’s about right considering how exact you needed to be with it. But considering Roadhog’s whole gimmick is to create space by putting fear into the enemy, it’s appropriate.

that is what everyone agree’s on he needs a lot less RNG
