My mic works on every other game and it doesn’t work on specifically Overwatch and Black Ops 4. The potential problem is when I hover over the comm/default it says unknown device. The audio does work.
Solutions and things I already have checked:
Windows microphone on default communications and default device.
Toggling M to mute/unmute
Switch between comms/default devices.
Battle .net mic settings (which works when tested)
If anyone has a solution I would be very happy!
It could be something tricky in the Windows settings like exclusive mode, or just a general permissions problem. Try all of the steps here: Blizzard Support - Overwatch Voice Chat Troubleshooting

Hmm, that suggests the recording device is not actually set to the microphone, if the Voice Chat settings in the Battle.net app are testing the “System Default Device”.
Let’s check what’s going on there.
Hit Windows key and type sound.
In the filtered search results, select the Control Panel item for Sound.
Go to the Recording tab.
Check which device is set as the Default Device. It should be your headset microphone.
