So I’m using a jack razer headset, working fine everywhere except in Battlenet where it’s not detected. It’s a pain to play comp OW, so I’m asking here for help.
I set the input to my computer’s default mic input, as my headset sound goes there when plugged in, but nothing works, whereas windows and discord detect it no problem.
I use Windows 10. Thanks!
Check your Windows Privacy Settings to see if Overwatch is allowed to use your Microphone.
Double-checked, everything is allowed, the issue isn’t from there. Also, my mic isn’t only not detected in OW, but battle.net itself doesn’t recognize it
Hello HyNeko!
Battle.net and Overwatch utilize the same voice chat technology, so the uniformity of the issue makes sense. Let’s check a few other Windows settings related to the microphone.
Make sure Exclusive Mode is disabled:
- Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray and select Recording Devices.
- Select your device and click Properties.
- Select the Advanced Tab.
- Uncheck any boxes in the Exclusive Mode section.
Change how Windows behaves when it detects communications devices:
- Hit Windows key and type sound.
- Go to the Sound options.
- Click the Communications tab.
- For the setting “When Windows detects communications activity”, set it to “Do nothing”.
In conjunction with the above step, in-game you can go to Audio settings and try toggling your voice chat device between Default Devices or Comms Devices.
I’ve tried everything, but it still does not work
