No. It shows that less people are playing him.
The good bastion players taking a break.
ah so a random person simply claiming to be a professional mathmetician with absolutely no link to any credentials or link to any significant work to deem them âprofessionalâ
about what I thought.
What is the goal of goats comp, do you know?
They showed their work. If you want to prove them wrong, why donât you do some math work?
Or are you going to continue to fight against data because it doesnât agree with you? The devs data about ladder stated the same thing about Sombra as Overbuff did at the time, that she wasnât all that. They were going to buff her. And then they saw how she did in Contenders and cancelled it.
there work means nothing, they have no credentials, nor do they know the exact numbers of overbuff. you cant say something is an accurate representation, when you cant even say how much of the population it shows.
You donât know if they have credentials. You didnât even read the work.
To rush the eneny. Something you canât do when you donât have any way of dealing with the enemy.
Incorrect, but this is a common misconception so im not judging you
The goal of goats is to take a point and make it impossible to fight them on point. This is where youâll occasionally see points taken with one person dying or sometimes(rarely) none.
Bastion is not mobile enough to contest point and even with Sym youâre begging for something to go wrong.
I did I looked through it for credentials, none were present.
there was no listing of where they got there degree, or listings of any works with their name on it from the mathematic community.
That doesnât mean they donât have credentials, it means you donât know them.
What you do is know that others checked and even corrected some of their work.
What you do know is that Overbuff has once again been a reliable prediction of who would receive buffs, even after the change.
You canât take something you canât reach.
Lets see
Reins barrier lasts 3 seconds against that comp
Add D.Va DM and Lucio speed boost = on point.
Infact it takes goats only 2 seconds to get to point on Hanamura.
The funny thing is that ive seen people swap to goats to counter bastion.
if they had them they would have used them. no self respecting mathmetician would claim they are something and put forward evidence of there work without the credentials to back this. I know this because I am an aeronautical engineer, and its heavy in math, and I have never met another engineer who has put out work doing math on something without their credentials.
this alone tells me they arenât what they claim. the fact that they had to have their work checked and corrected by average everyday people on the internet on something as simple as seeing if a sample size measures up to the actual community, a process as simple as seeing the ratios of x class player on overbuff compared to the actual community. (the actual community they would have no way of getting by the way)
Edit:
Iâm 100% sure they arenât what they say after going back and reading more thoroughly with their âcoins in a bagâ example, claiming a 1 time sample of that bag is enough to determine the actual bags contents, they donât factor in outliers, and chance. They said 1 time was enough. if you were doing a test like theres you would need to spill the bag 10+ times and get the median average of both sets of coins to even come close to determining what the percentile difference between those bags are.
Lets see, it takes 2 seconds, plus the 4 seconds to get a tick. Plus the time lost due to slow effect.
It is common in video game forums because people donât want to be harassed, swatted, etc. They donât want to reveal their real information.
And as for the corrections, they explained how the error came to be. And made the corrections without fanfare, along with crediting the posters.
The people who corrected additionally agreed with their conclusions.
But if you think you can do better, then by all means feel free to do that.
read this. its all ive left to say on the matter:
doing better is saying their assumptions are unreliable, because we have no base number, nor the sample number, and it is impossible to get both.
Well when you get on point you can generally get in cover. Hanamura has all those corners, Kings Row has the payload spot, Anubis has the underplatform rooms, etc.
If the Bastion comp TPâs on point then theyâll get destroyed with cleave. If bastion comp stays put theyâll lose point outright.
Now, this is only an estimation but the upshot of it is that Overbuff
records around 80,000 games a day. Using Blizzardâs statistics about player distribution (yes, I know that player distribution isnât the same as the distribution of the number of games per day, but theyâre close) we get about: 6,400 games in Bronze, 16,800 in silver, 25,600 in gold, 20,000 in platinum, 8,000 in diamond, 2,400 in masters, and 800 in gm every day.
Honestly, just read it and dismantle it point by point if youâre so convinced. This person showed their work. And additionally, Overbuff has been an accurate predictive tool of who is gonna get buffs or nerfs since the change.
Forgive me if this is more believable than someone who attempts to dimiss mathematical evidence as wrong without even looking at it.
Yeah, because thatâs a good excuse. Bastion counters a meta > âGood Bastion Playersâ are taking a break.
It couldnât possibly be that heâs actually F-tier and sucks, and had always sucked, for a long long time now.
Iâve seen him sit at that bottem spot, and get worse and worse with each patch. Donât you dare say heâs viable because you have no proof to back up what youâre saying.
Sub 40% winrate? âThe good Bastion players are taking a break.â âgo back a month, see 50% winrate.â
And whatâs your excuse going to be for his pickrate rising by .1%? That a gust of wind came by and duplicated 1 Bastion player. Donât kid yourself. The Bastion Sym strat was cool for a day back when the Sym rework came out. Since then thereâs very little point in running it since high ground can easily be overcome by the fact that the 3 tanks in Goats just walked onto the point, and you no longer have an angle. If it takes 4 seconds for Bastion to destroy a Rein barrier, then what hopes do you have that itâll work against 3 other tanks with massive healthpools.
Maybe if Bastion gets buffed, will he be able to counter Goats, but not in his current state.
Because you donât need to deal with Bastion. Just outlast him because his damage is so inconsistent.
It takes too long just to mow down 1 target as Bastion, espeically a Tank, and you expect him to burn through tanks, their defensese, and healing, with ease. All because âhigh ground.â
No, you have no clue what youâre talking about. You say 1 team pull that stunt on Hanamura, and it only worked because the enemy was shocked by it and thus couldnât react.
A point is never out of reach. Sure, high ground is, but that doesnât matter when the enemy has already stepped onto the point and started capping.
McCree is a solid C/D tier, what are you on about?
Hanzo is leagues above McCree in every way.
