Message to all Healer Queuers

If I pick an off-healer, don’t also pick an off-healer.

Thank you <3

Depends
If you only play “off healers” then you can’t expect others to always fill the main heal role

Bruh, The role is called “support,” not “healer.” :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Is doing damage a way of supporting the team? Than i am an off support ~

Maybe BLIZZARD should mark characters as healers and off-healers because beginners wouldn’t know that.

When the game has exactly one ‘pure’ healer, there’s no ‘off healer’ role. Mercy’s the odd one out. All characters are expected to contribute damage to their teams, all players are ultimately responsible for their own survivability.

Nine times out of ten when I watch a person die it’s because…

1: They were actively making it difficult to be healed. Many heals require you physically target the person, not merely hold down the mouse button. Virtually no heals work through physical objects.

2: They had the situational awareness of a turnip and are now complaining their support can’t heal from the grave. Helping support when, say, a Genji and a Reaper are dry humping them will go a long way towards getting healing from your supports!

3: They have a death wish, don’t make use of cover, don’t make any attempt to stick with the group and obsess over ‘flanking’ and gambling whole engagements on the off chance the other team won’t pay attention and get mowed down. And then when they actually need back up they do things like actively avoid LOS with their Mercy.

The term is ‘preventative support.’ People don’t need healing from damage when the damage dealers are all dead.

Everyone has the right to play whomever they want. I’m sure their aware and up for the challenge or a new player who doesn’t know any better. Regardless, dont expect someone els have to pick just to please you that’s a losing battle

Who actually cares about terminology like this
Its not gonna matter when you suddenly call tanks “bruisers” or whatever
Everyone still knows about that character group you’re talking about :moyai:

I should rephrase. If I’m doing better than you, don’t make me be the one to swap off.

Had a game today where I was hard-countering the enemy team with Brig, but my 2nd healer refused to swap off his garbage Zenyatta, and we just had no sustainability. Swapped to a main healer and we got crushed. Just a lose/lose scenario.

or learn to play other characters because you cant expect people to swap for you every game! also, two off healers can totally work in OW2 with one less tank

I am going to pick Zen. If you do not like that, feel free to swap, or leave the game, or throw… Whatever, I could care less.

What’s a losing battle is trying to win a game with people who healer-queue and only do damage.

Yeah, I’d rather have Zen’s Discord orb than whatever Brig is bringing to the table. Maybe the issue wasn’t the Zen.

Exactly what I expected Reaper pfps to talk like

This makes no practical difference. Supports all have to have healing. This was decided when they moved Sym to DPS

while i understand the concept and also find it frustrating when people pick zenyatta into my brigitte pick at the end of the day people are going to play what they want to play, if you know they arent going to switch and it bothers you then you can switch, because that person clearly doesnt care enough to

brig/lucio also worked in ow1, low elos probably couldnt pull it off but people definitely played it even before the single tank

Invoking terms like ‘off healer’ usually suggests you’re woefully out of date on current meta. And it’s usually thrown around by the tank who’s still trying to play a two-shield meta.

It’s like the Pharah player who absolutely needs a Mercy instead of having Zen’s Harmony Orb slapped onto her.
