Mercys reverted!

SEE!!! we have been telling yall ever since the GA launch speed nerf that it was a bad change, and multiple people defending the GA nerf laughed at the mercy players complaining about the nerf and that it won’t be reverted. guess what? it got reverted and divine momentum got removed and replaced with winged reach!! THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN SAYING SHE SHOULDVE BEEN GIVEN, not the dumb launch speed nerf.

this was never about adaption, its always been about the feel of her mobility. she should’ve been paired with the mobility heroes that got nerfed in S2, and she did, but this was the healthiest way to nerf her mobility, not the launch speed nerf. high level mercy mains and high skilled mercy content creators have all stated the nerf was unneeded and didn’t target the main problem, divine momentum.

thankfully, the balance team listened. this was the best alternative

No need to prove them, they already had negative imprints on mercy playstyle and her players.

Yeah I’m glad that GA speed returns to the original value. Thank god and Mercy lovers please welcome back the original GA

To be fair no one said it would never be reverted. People were just stating how dramatic people acted about it like it was the end of the world and that it really wasn’t that bad of a change if you actually put in the time to work with it. (I know I knoooow, iF iT wAsn’T THat BaD wHy Is It reVerTED THen, iT’S nOT AbOuT AdAPtInG?! rAwR :open_hands: )

Plus people were just annoyed at the forum clog.

i had already adapted to the nerf just like i’ve adapted to every GA nerf and buff since OW2 launched. i’ve played since 2020, and there was an outrage for a reason. the change obviously wasn’t the end of the world, and the posts eventually died down with some being resurrected ()

this wasn’t an adaption issue, it was a balance issue because it was a terrible balance change. in the dev comment, they stated that replacing divine momentum will address the extreme mobility cases that motivated the launch speed nerf. they basically admitted the nerf wasn’t a good idea, reverted it, and replaced it with what high level mercy mains said would be a better suited nerf to her movement.

My boi Reaper got nothing. NOTHING. Now it’s MY turn to start a slight kerfuffle.

clears throat

Idk, personally for me I’ve played since 2016 when superjump and all of the movement she has now was like non existent. So for me personally have seen/played her in way worse states such as that so it just never bothered me when the nerf came out, honestly barely noticed a huge difference.

I can now see how it would seem like a huge issue to players who didn’t start playing till after she was graciously given her movement abilites. A good way to look at it that I selfishly never thought of :face_with_hand_over_mouth: oopsie hehe

So excited to see the consequences of my actions

i won’t say that i never took her OW1 mobility for granted, LOL. i’m sure every mercy player after super jump became known took her mobility for granted, im sure almost every mercy player now takes her mobility for granted, specifically because of its omni-direction mobility.

i still miss OW1 GA, she felt so buttery smooth… i took her for granted

Even Spilo just said now on his stream-don’t nerf her mobility. She feels terrible when they do.

And you weren’t one of them.
Get off that high horse.

No, most people were already doing that. It was about fixing parkour.

But they kept the nerf. But adjusted it. She is still slower. That means that the balance change was spot on.
But at least parkour is fixed.

it wasn’t just about parkour, i don’t even play mercy parkour :sob::sob: this was about how her movement felt because it felt like a punishment if you didn’t take the overtuned perk, divine momentum. GA shouldn’t have gotten nerfed because of perk, the perk should’ve gotten nerfed/replaced especially because it was overtuned. guess what? it did, and the change still addresses the extreme mobility she had prior to the launch speed nerf, just like you said.

this was about making GA feel smooth and fun again and not punishing, not reverting the launch speed nerf while also not replacing the perk. that would obviously make her movement overtuned again, this is just the RIGHT way to nerf her mobility. that’s the point.
