Mercy's new skins are always missing something

Is it just me or do people find the yellow wings just so boring?? Her lunar new year skin was great but it was such a missed opportunity to have fiery looking wings to match the Phoenix design of this skin. Even if they just used the witch wing texture for that one imo it would be amazing.

And now the Winter Wonderland skin is coming out with yellow wings when in my opinion the green wings from her fortune skin would just ooft make this skin so much better. (Without the red accents )

What do you guys think? Missed opportunities or what?

Yeah I just found some posts on it I should have checked first. Mine disputes the zhuque skin choice too so I’ll just leave it

P.s it’s nowhwere a tantrum and generalising it as a “Mercy mains just always complain” is a bit silly. If enough people agree it would look better a certain way why not change it? Yellow is her default and they are supposed to be legendaries after all.

Event skins have gotten minor changes due to user feedback before (see Casual hanzo).

Just because we think it could use some changes doesn’t mean we aren’t thankful for the skin overall.

If I remember right it was only Casual Hanzo and it was because of False advertisement.

The Art they posted and the skin were different. So they changed the skin to match the marketing art.

I’m sure the devs that made this skin are super happy you’re all complaining about a thing you won’t even notice in game instead of talking about the great job they did on the skin.

It must be great to work on something for people and have those people turn around and say “BUT ITS NOT PERFECT!” merry christmas devs EVEN THOUGH MINE IS RUINED BY YELLOW WINGS RAR RAR WAH!!! :sob: :sob: :sob:

Fair enough, cite the event skins that have gotten voice line changes per user suggestion then (such as Mccree’s high tide). While those aren’t changes to the visuals of the skin they wouldn’t exist were it not for forum ‘complaints’ aka feedback.

Except no one is saying their Christmas is ruined? You’re overexaggerating the whole situation lmao. It’s not that deep bud, we just don’t like the wings.

Pretty sure a game developer can handle a little feedback.

Nah, I think it looks great as is. I think the yellow makes it more whimsical.

The criticism that this skin has gotten is insane, though. There are quite a few threads on it, when it doesn’t even look bad.

There’s also Mei’s Christmas skin too, however, iirc… Didn’t they change it because people felt it was too bland and didn’t fit the criteria of a legendary skin?

Cybernetic S76 badly needs hair. His Chrome dome is so ugly. If he had his traditional hair he would look amazing.

Change what? nothing changed. they just promised that in the future they’d adjust what they considered “Legendary”.

Perhaps eventually we will have customisations for skins. I.e different hairstyles. Maybe being able to choose parts of another skin to combine to yours. So in my case I would put fortune wings on my fairy skin and you could put young 76 hair on cyborg. It would be super cool if done right

Edit: my friend loves mccrees Halloween skin but hates the gun. Maybe they could give us the option to swap them out. Who knows :slight_smile:

I imagine it’s for balancing purposes. I espect Blizzard are (rightfully) concerned about some skins conveying certain advantages, like making Mercy less conspicuous when she ults.

Best to just keep her wings the same colour across all of her skins.

I remember that one pretty well cause… well… Mei Main. I didn’t see what the fuss was. I was super jazzed that I could turn into a snowman.
