Mercy should replace Tracer as the mascot

Mercy is the most popular character and support is most important so why not?

It’s because Tracer was the first hero they created and played, followed by Reaper and a few others.

I would have thought pick-wise could be D.Va but Tracer had always been Overwatch’s iconic hero. Her bleeps and recall are quite unique.

Nah, Id way prefer Tracer being the poster girl.

Shes bubbly, fun loving and optimistic.
Mercy is just… “hi i heal” Personally I think her personality is boring and really cliche.

Tracer is iconic, shes pretty perfect for the mascot role

Mercy kind of is one of the unofficial mascotts already…she has the statue in the store, the skin variant nendroids, all the clothing/merch, is on the World Cup opening screen, etc.

And most importantly, she had the Pink Mercy BCRF event dedicated entirely to her, raised 12.7$million in a few weeks, has her own official twitch emotes from the event, and Jeff acknowledged it as their most successful content for the entire year at this year’s Blizzcon opening speech.

I rarely see them here, on the forums; however, in game, I associate Mercy’s beautiful face with toxicity. Mercy mains either love me or hate me, regardless of the outcome, I am getting pocketed and I hate being pocketed. Ugh. :weary:

Honestly I feel like Soldier is more of the mascot of the OW world. They use him for the basic training and practice stuff, I feel like he is more universally known as well. That’s just how I see it though

Soldier should have been the mascot.

Nail on the head here!

Tracer > Mercy in every way

Also Tracer is a high skill hero and fun to play, Mercy is neither.

You don’t use the most boring character to play as, the face of your game.

Create a post saying: “Valk is actually pretty good imo”.

Trust me, you’ll be attacked.

I’ve played this game every day since launch and sometimes I forget Solider is in the game. His kit is the most bland, he’s just a simple hero for FPS people to pick up in the early stages, he has no unique design or aesthetic or abilties (Unlike Tracer’s time travelling, Mercy’s rez, Genji’s blade and Hanzo’s dragon, Winston’s…everything, etc.) and Solider barely appears in the lore except for early Overwatch organization stuff. Heck, he hasn’t even been meta for over a year!

It kind of baffles me how you guys could think he would be popular/well known enough to the be the mascot of the whole game.

Your post is evidence of the opposite.

She had it dedicated to her because she saves lives, as BCRF is working towards/is doing.

If Mercy is boring in your eyes, that’s fine (a lot of her own playerbase feels the same way lol), but Jeff and the other devs have said multiple times that Mercy is the most popular hero of all time, so it’s really not a stretch that they would make her one of the faces of the game.

Yep, that’s Mercy’s character design and part of the reason she’s one of the most popular heroes in the entire game. [edit because i was in a m00d]

Like I said, that’s just how I feel. You left that part out of your quote.

Tracer is also affiliated in other games, not just Overwatch. Soldier is kinda the… “Generic Hero” Character. “Oooh, I was once a great man but now I am edgy and I am pretending to be dead. Oop, there’s another character who was thought to be dead. Oop, there’s another one. Still, I am the edgiest edge man”
In MY OPINION he is the mascot.

I’m just saying, and not disagreeing, that she had it dedicated to her because she’s an advanced doctor is all.

We’re not toxic.

We are fighting for a better more balanced and fun hero to play.

Mercy atm is ABYSMAL.
