Mercy rez button

** Console Only **
Mercys rez button desperately needs to be able to be assigned to a separate button, instead of being assigned to the descend button. It’s too often that I’m trying to use her downed team mates souls to fly away, and trying to use angelic descent to glide further but I just stop awkwardly in the middle of the battle presenting myself to be killed because the game thinks I want to revive someone.
Please allow it to be changed to a separate button soon, it’s a simple change that will stop really clunky and awkward moments happening for mercy players

Rez is on E, descend is holding down Space, or… ?

You’re also free to change keybinds yourself.

Lol sorry, should have mentioned it’s on console. Rez is stuck on descent for console players

oh! i dont know if you can change buttons yourself on console, if you can’t then yea that’s clunky, especially since you dedicate to the res ability you don’t want to risk the chance of activating it unwantingly

i think u can change keybinding on console?

You can, but rez itself is stuck with glide, so if you try to change rez itself, glide comes with it :frowning:

Nope, Angelic Descent and Rez are always tied together - if you move rez AD is moved to the same button. You can use X for just AD, but it’s clunky as you need to be able to also use your thumb to look around while gliding.

Yeah exactly, hence why it needs to be moved to a separate button

that sounds oddly stupid

that’s super weird to have, wouldn’t it make more sense to have AD be on the joystick when you click it down?

One of them already occupies the melee button, but the thing is it would be easy to “let go” of the trigger, leading you to fall to your death. I would never want to have AD on any other trigger than L1, L2, or R1, and they are all occupied by abilities (GA, Rez, Damage boost).

I’ve got my settings as:
Damage Boost = Left Trigger
Healing Boost/Pistol = Right Trigger
Guardian Angel = Left Bumper
Resurrect = Right Bumper

I just hold down A for Angelic Descent, which is kinda clunky feeling imo, but after quite a long time of using it, I’ve gotten used to it.

That’s good and all, but I don’t think mercy should have to deal with very clunky features like that. She is a mobile hero after all, so she should be able to glide and revive easily without having to compromise on fluidity because of a random button bind

I probably should’ve mentioned the fact I agree, lol.

Clunky =/= okay, I mean you can still get used to it and play around it but it doesn’t make it fine.

It is? I dont have this problem. Rez is Left Trigger, and Angelic Descent is on A. Is it just a PS4 thing?

in the end i don’t get why AD isn’t tied to jump, like PC

No, it’s the same, but which finger do you use to press A? I always use my thumb for X, forcing me away from the right thumbstick and thus the ability to look around. Maybe you are able to use some other finger?
