Mercy Players who pocket a Friend

You are the worst. Please stop. I know that Widow is your friend, but pocketing your friend instead of healing Rein that is engaged is not the answer.

I am saying it again, Mercy players who pocket their friends are the worst mercy players in this entire game.

How can you be so cruel to Genjis, who always do need healing?!? ;D

Genji got the Healing-To-Go App. He no longer needs Mercy. There is an App for everything now.

Although rare, I hate it when a Mercy just mainly heals those in her group and not all teammates. I usually report such a thing for ‘gameplay sabotage’ if she still doesn’t really heal the rest of the team when needed, after I politely ask.

Players who do that are most likely being boosted by their group mates and don’t belong to the elo they’re playing in in the first place.

Screw that. I yell at them in chat. There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING worse than being in a game with all Diamonds/Masters and playing Rein and watching your mercy on death cam heal a sniper instead of Rein who is trying to push in and is now dying.

You do not know the meaning of ‘triggered’ until that moment.

You are now black-listed from my Mercy Friend List.
I will not be healing you in the next match.

not always. when i play Mercy with friend and my friend is “going in” my main healing/boosting focus is on that friend because of my trust in him to not be a failure but at the same time i will heal allies that are taking damage(if it’s in view) and sometimes the team gets punished for taking my healing off my friend and onto teammates that took damage.

but just like always people run away from the Healer to out of reach places screaming “I NEED HEALING” and then get killed because they ran away and guess where all the blame gets sent, to the healer.

a few games i healed my other teammates more then my friend but because i pocket healed my friend a few times mid fight I got blasted with hate.

but alas if a Mercy pocket heals/boosts a hero that should never be pocket healed/boosted like Widow then I agree 100% that you should report them for being a bad Mercy.

Remember never punish all those that do it but only those who do it injustice

I might do it for a short period of time if we are 1) stuck and not going anywhere and 2) there’s a second healer to help out while I’m doing this. I do this occasionally with my very good Pharah-main friend, but I really only do this when the situation is dire and we need to cause some havoc in the back-line to create space for our tank in the front. As soon as we break through I will go back to healing everyone as much as possible.

I don’t like doing it, but sometimes it’s a judgement call that is for the best of the team.

I dunno. A mercy who refuses to go into the fight is a worthless mercy. Nobody needs a medical tent, they need a field doctor.

who said anything about refusing to go into a fight, also if a mercy is in the front lines then your doing it wrong(it only leads to early death). if anything its normally others that refuse to go into the fight and run around aimlessly

If your Mercy can do both healing and damage boosting then that’s fine.
But since when was pocketing a trusted player a bad thing?

Why is it always Mercy though, I wonder.

This honestly annoys me a lot at how the ranked system is unfair.

Because she’s the most simple to play among the supports and she’s mostly used when you’re being duo/boosted.

I mean, a Zenyatta could also keep the harmony orb on his friend for the entire game but I have yet to see someone do it or a thread complaining about Zenyatta players doing that. It is always Mercy who does that.

Mercy is a strong, single target healer with an opportunity for Team Beams every so often.

Not every mercy is a combat medic rushing to and fro.

I’d personally prefer Mercy in the backline giving widow a blue beam and have Moira or Brigitte (for multi-target hella heals) on the front line with Rein and whomever else, so Mercy can swoop in for a rez while Zarya bubbles her. Mercy should rush in to heal a tank when it is safest to do so since she is an extremely high value target and everyone knows how to focus fire mercy.

Because she’s a complete package- heal, damage boost, and rez.

It isn’t. It’s just more obvious when Mercy does it, given the huge yellow beam between her and the hero being healed.

I’m a Mercy main and I never pocket my friends. I prioritize those who are most likely to get damage. So the ones on the front line get my attention.
For example:
A critical Winston waiting behind a corner at the backline, for me, is a lower priority than a full HP McCree all alone on the front line because our Rein just died. When the danger of McCree dying is gone, or if I couldn’t outheal the damage, then I will fall back to the next priority. If that’s Winston, good. If not, he will need to wait.

However it is true that when my entire team is full health, I will default back to one of my friends because we are on teamspeak and voice communication is guaranteed.
Think about: ult dmg boost, pick me up from spawn because the pub players don’t care about a Mercy having to walk (however they’re the first to scream because they didn’t get heals because Mercy wasn’t there), quick critical heals during combat.

Most players aren’t in voice comm and if they are, there’s a high chance they are just toxic or just don’t communicate.
That’s why I default to friends when the team is full HP (or just not working as a team)

Zenyata needs great amount of positioning and with no escape mechanism along with the need to aim and use transcendence at the right moments which could be a game changer, it’s more easier to simply play mercy at an okay level especially once you hit ranks you aren’t supposed to be in.
