Sometimes, I get stuck, forced to play healer for a map I like to DPS on. But with Mercy, I can never seem to get gold damage. At least with Zen, sometimes I can get gold damage, but not with mercy. So Mercy definitely needs a buff to her damage.

If I get stuck as a healer, but a map comes up I like to DPS on, that’s what I’m going for.
Mercy is clearly not an appropriate choice for you if your goal is to deal damage regardless of role. That’s not a problem with the character, though, as it’s quite okay for support characters to focus on supporting.
Also I’d recommend playing the current Competitive mode instead of Quick Play (until Sep 1st when Role Queue will be in both), as you are exactly the type of player it’s designed for.

The pistol is quite stronk actually when you land dem headshots. It’s also gg when you hunt down a widow or pharah in angel mode.
You can do it only if the dps isn’t killing that widow, use your valk to do it though but look out for ulting soldiers or an ulting mcree to shoot you out of the sky.
Your primary job though is to heal and rez important targets like tanks and other supports. 
and damage boooost that bastion or anyone with a strong powerful ult. I think damage boost is just so under-rated but your team will love you for it cause there are times when that extra boost does make a HUGE difference
I guess I’ll go for headshots more. The problem with damage boost is that I don’t really get credit for that extra damage, they do. I have no problem rezzing, and I have no problem healing on some maps, but on most maps, I don’t want to heal. I seem to get much better damage with all the other healers, but not mercy.

Yes. Mercy is a support hero, y’know? Her gun isn’t meant to be used 24/7… right? Do i need to tell you what mercy needs to do or…?
Annnd you can’t just play moira? Let mercy do her thing, her main thing is healing and her pistol is fine, if you’re one of those people choosing mercy for a ffa fight, than that all on you, sugar.
My friend is a battle mercy main, she can still out heal anyone including moira while getting awesome final blows, and what she told me, when I was trying to learn Mercy, is the best way to play mercy is to focus the on heals and land final blows if you see the opportunity.
Also as Mercy the only other times I use the pistol is to get away from someone annoying, thats right Tracer, I’m looking at you, sombra not so much, reaper eh a little.
Begin a healer is not about the credit, its about supporting your teammates and keeping them alive to keep control of the point/payload longer than the other team. If you get a win, then a win is a win, its a good mark on your record. People see your profile or look you up on a stats site will know how good you are there.
Also, if you really do want the credit, join the bandwagon of people who want a in game stats board.

Tekunin, maybe that’s because the game used to be fun before role queue, and now it’s garbage. You get stuck with a specific role and can’t switch out, even if the other team or the map demands you do, woooooow, so fun. It’s a giant step backwards
She can already deal more dps than Genji.
