because bringing a player back every fight makes it a 7v6 unless both teams have a mercy. it makes picking another support useless because rez is so good
I’m not sure about removing the cast time, if only because it makes the Rez consistent so long as Mercy is able to build her ult properly. Players generally don’t consider long-term play true “counterplay”, and this change would make Rez nigh-uncounterable in any way that doesn’t also counter Valk.
Let me state: I personally would LOVE this change, as it would both make Rez earned again as well as make it less of a chore to use for Mercy. Just acknowledging that it would be SUPER annoying for enemies.
I don’t see them locking Rez behind Valkyrie for two reasons:
When she was first reworked, we were told they wanted to give Mercy an E ability to use mid-fight because that is what her players were asking for.
They have said in the past they want to move Valkyrie away from being Rez orientated. This proposed change will encourage holding onto Valkyrie for the one charge of Resurrect.
Sure, Make Rez a part of Valkyrie and allow her to hit R again to use it. Then give her a new fun mobility-based E to better suit her theme of “Support that has best mobility and flies around”
Isn’t holding Valk for the rez charge kind of okay though? It’s not like it discounts the rest of her ult. You pop Valk to revive someone important, and now you’re in powered up mode ready to take full advantage of the new swing in power.
