After seeing the streams I’ve seen, you all really need to do better. And I mean REALLY need to do better… I have watched on these forums and Reddit for you all to be some of the most outspoken and aggressive, and act as though you do no wrong…
But, in-game. . .? Your performance(s) across: GM, Plat, Silver, and QP all tell an entirely different story than what you portray to others. A completely different story. And for someone who plays such a one-dimensional character, it’s mind blowing how toxic you all are towards others (as a whole). Yet, you barely seem to grasp the bare basics of how OW is actually played. From not knowing spaces, to improper timings. This needs to be addressed.
And I’m talking everything from: Resurrecting teammates in enemy space, not realizing whether or not you’re in neutral or enemy space, resurrecting people in the middle of team fights while standing DIRECTLY in front of enemies, screaming for tanks and DPS to help while you strictly pocket 1 person only and usually in an unsafe manner, flying around in Valk with your pistol out throughout the majority of it, etc. What is wrong with you? Why are you so toxic, and hypercritical of others? And yet, I’m seeing some GM games (yes GM) where you’ll end entire games with 3K heals?
Because the rework sucked dude, I mean look at Mercy now, the only thing you can do is right click + shift, can you really blame anybody at this point? Its a complete disgrace for what blizzard says is “the most popular hero in the game”, yeah?
Nothing better to do than switch to another actual support, Mercys kit is just so unbelievably outdated in OW2 that mercy players are partaking in this kind of behavior, SAD!
I garuntee if mercy gets reworked in any capacity mercy mains will cry you cannot appease them.
Change ressurect they will cry
Change healing so she has more impactful abillities they will cry
Lower movement so she can have more impactful abillities they will cry.
Mercy can’t have Decent heal, excellent mobillity, Impactful abillities characters need weaknesses.
She definetly needs a rework but if rework comes they will just cry about it, people said “Make moira more impactful”
They added damage reduction Orb they cried and said “we dont want moira to be more imapctful”

How did the rework suck all they did was change her ult from what I remember and lower healing from 65/hps or 60hps to 55/hps
And her ult was extremely unhealthy for the game.
Mercy is top 3 support she breaks alot of dps including Sojourn, Ashe, Pharah and a few others.
3k heals is a bit rare, but several top 500 Mercy players have ~65% dmg bst up time, 35% heal up time, get around 2k dmgbst/10min and still get around 8k heals/10min on average.
There really is quite a lot of difference between bad and good players. Calling Mercy 1 dimensional itself is a bit of a misunderstanding as well. Most of her other value can come from shoutouts. Go back to some early OWL S1 to S3 and you can see a few Mercy players were the shotcallers for the team like Neptune.
Mercy just naturally tends to get a good vantage point of the whole map and more attention can be dictating to helping to address things. The ping system for one is something more Mercy players need to be doing. More vocal stuff on comms.
As you have proven in your post several Mercy players have a huge stigma against them where people see their opinion as worthless. Part of it is true. Many people play Mercy because they cant’ make the others work too well.
Oh god dont uncall the swarm man like yeah a lot of the mercy’s need common sense and need to stop asking for mercy buffs a lot of times its not the hero it’s you.
Right click + shift (the only way to play Mercy currently) is not something to be proud of, and is bad game design, also theres literally years of discussion about Mercy and why her kit is garbage, but I have no time for a tldr.
Mercy is top 3 for now, but largely due to Sojourn as the only truely hitscan 1shot breakpoint from range that matters. Mercy has a 2shot with Reinhardt, but no one ran her for that. Mercy has shown that in order for her to get up there she needs a broken rez or powerful dmg bst break points on characters.
Pharah/Ashe don’t really have any meaningful break points that are hugely impactful. Its really just more trying for situational circumstances. Ashe can’t 3tap with Mercy at all. All you can really bank on is that someone from your team sprays damage into someone and Ashe hits a juicy dmg bst headshot for 195dmg.
Agreed. The rework was rather huge in that it gave Mercy an extra ability. Her glitched GA bunny hop got worked into an actual game mechanic which greatly increased her survival. The 4x rez in ~20s was stupidly busted. On top of her having 60 hps before getting nerfed down to 50 hps for time.
Mercy has so many players that enjoy her that there will always be clashing opinions. Many people lament the days of losing mass rez because it felt like your time to make a huge shift in the game that everyone could see. Her value now is subtle and it doesn’t “pop”. People want to feel like a dragon blade. A really obvious to see game changer.
The biggest thing I have found is that most people play her for the mobility and ease of access on healing. If nothing else those two aspects can’t change. The highly contested things are Rez, Valkyrie, and Dmg Bst.
A number of people don’t like Dmg Bst because it doesn’t feel like you do anything. You see a health bar go up and see how close they are to death and it seems meanginful to the Mercy player. Dmg Bst really needs a more visual element than only a sound element. If you could see dmg values for what you boosted that would feel better.
Otherwise, many people enjoy having rez around because its the only thing that counters 1shots in the game in the slightest. The thing that would upset people the least would probably moving rez to ult while having an additional effect that isn’t tied to only rez. Doing something with dmg bst to be impactful, but not dmg related for break points. Along with reworking E ability into a different type of passive effect.
watch this clip from stylosa where he covers the Q&A from alec dawson a while ago. mercy is top 3 because she pockets sojourn. i guarantee you if sojourn gets the nerfs she needs to not be busted, mercy’s pick rate and win rate will plummet.
Ah yes, and the best way to stop toxicity is to make threads admonishing an entire hero’s player base about how they “all really need to do better” based on some positively grasping hateful generalizations, paired with a few nice digs about their hero and a heaping portion of back seat gaming to tell every Mercy player ever that they’re bad at the game.
You really are the vanguard of a more peaceful and respectful future.
