Since the rework, I’ve observed something that happened kind of frequently when I play Mercy.
When I use Valkyrie, My team mates don’t usually seem to notice, or acknowledge it’s existence. But when I Rez, suddenly I get feedback on it. “Huge rez!” “Thank you!” “Mercy why!” “That was a ballsy Rez Mercy!” etc.
This phenomenon intrigued me, and I think it has to do with rezzing being a lot more impactful even as a cooldown move, than her current ultimate. For the Mercy mains, does this happen with you as well? Do you get more acknowledgement on your Rezzes than your Valks?

it seems to be, that you have the idea that you should be recognised when you ult. it may have been that you were praised when mass rez was a thing, but it is probably the only ult to be like that. I dont go “Yeah crazy Grav, that was cool!”, I just say “nice” and focus on fighting, because that is what it is about; focusing on fighting. valk is an ult, that is being used in the heat of the battle, so ofcourse it is harder to aknowledge it when other ults fly around you. rez was used, when the team was dead and didnt have anything to think about, so they actually saw it happening.
I usually dont even get recognised for pulse bomb, unless I somehow get a 3k with it, sooooo buff?
Regardless of role, people get praised when something very obviously saves them from certain death and valk doesn’t do that. From an individual perspective, valk just means a negligible increase in healing; I’m not even sure that people even notice if they didn’t read the patch notes.
A friend of mine calls the new Valkyrie the “Team tickle beam” due to it’s lackluster healing. Needless to say, I gave a quaint chuckle at the thought.

I’m DPS main, but this is one ult that i’ve learned to just ignore when it happens. I never feel like i need to react to it in any way, and it’s better to focus on something else.
It’s pretty sad. Those voice lines used to mean something.
Yeah. Dps valk is basically her value but I think it’s terrible design for it. Pistol Mercy being the sign of a good versus bad Mercy is such a weird thing for blizzard to settle on
Since her Nerf to healing, potg is mostly her rezzing and getting a kill or just multiple kills in valk (from what I’ve seen) and… I’m not fond of pistol Mercy being the core design for her ult if they aren’t just to just straight up promote battle Mercy flat
