Mercy is still one of the best healer in the game!

She is now a situational hero like other healers and this is called balance. I name a couple heroes who are very strong with Mercy; D.va, Winston, Widow, Soldier, Mcree, Junkrat, Pharah, Genji, Tracer, Doomfist. Some of these are dive , some of are hitscan and ALL OF THEM are better with Mercy than Moira who many of you call op right now.

I play tank and healer flex in competitive. From my point of view, Mercy is still good and I enjoy playing her. No otherhero has this rez ability which is too much good. All of those whiny Mercy mains want her get her super op powers back where she would be a must pick in anywhere and you only want to play her always and put other healers into trash can. Well, that won’t happen ever again, so try to get used to playing other heroes and stop whining about Mercy.

Heads up: Use paragraphs.

But yeah you’re totally right.

After reading the first sentence I can respond…Mercy mains couldn’t give a flying funk about her being ‘balanced’ as she is right now, we care about her being fun and engaging as she once was, and that does not include Mercy 2.0, we understand that she was broken and in fact hated the rework to begin with and continue to despise it. Plus ‘heroes that are very strong with Mercy’ is all she is really useful for nowadays, if you’re not running a Widow, Soldier, Pharah, etc then she is usually not as useful as the other healers - which basically makes her a glorified sidekick pocket for other people, she isn’t able to hold her own place as a ‘hero’.

“Stop whining”
Whines about Mercy players not liking how unfun their hero is now.

She’s the least situational healer imo

Theres 3 main healers and she is the only one of the 3 that has vertical movement and ana hasn’t been seeing a lot of play.

I disagree.

Mercy is the best healer in the game.

Okay, can you explain to me why she is more fun before but unfun now?

The only reason I see is removal of instand rez. Well, I think this makes her more challanging; trying to res your teammate without getting spotted and killed in time, so this makes it more adrenaline, therefore more fun.

Other than that, she was always a heal bot. If you mean unfun by being her a heal bot, then she has always been a heal bot since the beta.

The build up to her ult and having a way to impact a fight instead of being a flying camera that heals more.

Um. Lets look at it this way.

Her competition is.

Lucio. Nerfed.

Ana. Nerfed to heck and back.

Moira. Situational.

Zenyatta. Stronger support than her.

Brigitte. Lol no. At least not in the support slot. She fits better in the DPS slot.

Gee, being 2nd-3rd place out of 4 non terrible supports (Because lets not count Ana and Brigitte) is so hard. No wonder she is still picked.

Mercy is weaker now than pre rework, but her pickrates at higher skill levels are now are higher than pre rework. That should be a red flag indicating something.

(I’ll give you a hint. It has something to do with the other supports.)

Don’t get me wrong please , I am not biased or I try not to be. But she was a flying healing bot before she was nerfed. The difference is speed, time and instant res.

Maybe It would be better if they give her a different ability instead of rez to make her presence stronger in the field.

I’m not talking about before nerfs, I’m talking about before rework.

Everyone agrees that Mercy 2.0.0 was broken OP.

We are talking about Mercy 1.0 rework being silly and pointless. And the entire point of the rework was to make her “more fun to play”.

By the dev’s own criteria, they failed pretty hard.

More fun to play as and against

They succeeded on the latter, and a lot of people think she’s more fun, despite what the forums will tell you. She’s about as fun you can make her without being unbalanced.

As a Mercy main, she’s balanced, but when I use my ult, mostly my team dies except for me even when I’m healing, so I have no choice but to stall shoot, no chances of ressurecting, they will focus me or the ressurected will die fast. Her ult is lackluster, and boring, and if her ult encourages me to Battle Mercy, so be it.

Fun to play before rework…

Mass res could be used to bring back a full team for clutch plays or tempo res for team fights. The iFrames allowed players to use res as a protective barrier when forced into a 1v1 with flankers (which was another way to force her to waste res). She could bait the enemy to use all their ults and then res her team who all had their ults and wiped them out instead. Or she could make bad plays with res and set up her team for a second wipe if she wasnt managing ult economy properly.

Fun was not that res was powerful it was in the versatility of its use.

Valkyrie as it stands does nothing dynamic or versatile. You fly, provide healing or damage boost which is given chained beams so that takes away any prioritization. You could res but then you stop healing to do so, plus you could get focused and killed which wasted your ult. Most of your ult is spent hiding behind buildings or objects depending on the enemies hero picks (and this was supposed to be a factor in her rework, stop her passively hiding). You’re not in the fight unless you battle Mercy and that also means no heals or damage boost. The healing you do is not even boosted its just your normal hps just as is your damage boost. The whole thing is lackluster

Mercy players want an ultimate that gives them options, allows them some kind of micromanaging and engagement in the fight, not spectating from the skybox.

They were promised fun and engaging but got balanced and boring. It was never the Res that made her fun it was the many useful ways to use it that was fun and despite her base kit being pretty bland. It was the one HERO moment she got to make a play that wasn’t being just a healbot. Valkyrie is a sidekick’s ult. It has no game changing effect what so ever.

The “more fun to play against” argument is a bad one to use. See Roadhog. Not to mention they failed pretty hard on that one as well. Since you know, Valkyrie is basically 15 seconds of non interaction with the enemy team.

You hear Mercy pop Valk and you are like, “ok time to just ignore her for the next 15 seconds. Her survivability is so much fun.”

Roadhog is in a decent state nowadays.
If anything, it establishes a precedent, along with Hanzo’s Scatter. The OP state of Mercy was a “fail”, but they eventually remedied it (albeit it took forever).
People do try to shoot you, so idk where you got that from

Mercy 1.0 wasn’t OP though. And I want mercy 1.0

There’s no point in arguing for it, sorry to say. Blizzard doesn’t revert. Mass Rez isn’t coming back. It’d be less of a waste to propose new ideas tbhwyf
