tbh I didn’t get the appeal on why she had such a big cult following or so many insta lockers, but it’s so fun flying around n tryna survive the whole time
I lose like 90% games with her but still really fun. I’m def part of that reason, I get shes not the best support, but I still feel useful outhealing by miles n getting a million rez’s. also it’s so fun clocking other mercys with ur lil barbie gun
I tried her for so long and I still do not get it to be perfectly honest. I have more hours than I ever bargained for trying to understand before I gave up.
The flight is the most enjoyable thing in her kit.
Back before season 9, you could relatively safely hop to a highground and glock a widow in the skull. You could zoom at the enemy and strafe duel ashe too, sometimes soldier.
Duelling a sombra? No issue.
Taking an air duel with a pharah? Enjoyable.
The season 9 bullet changes made her more difficult to play, because suddenly the people who failed to hit your massive wing hitbox before, started hitting even when you didn’t have the wings out.
But hey, thanks for lowering her winrate. She might get a good adjustment or two if her winrate goes low enough.
These people are part of the main playerbase, not a cult!
The cult are the snippy Mercy one-tricks who will bite your head off if you make one mistake, but can’t swap to another hero to save their life, except maybe Moira or Sym.
I haven’t played Mercy since Kiriko came on the scene since in terms of gameplay, Kiriko feels kinda sorta like a Mercy/Bap hybrid to me and right now we have Juno anyway, but back when I did: it’s the mobility. Zipping from teammate to teammate and bolstering them as needed was a bit of a rush, along with drawing out the glock when I could.
Of course, I was told that that was the wrong way to play Mercy, and instead I should be feeding one particular character my blue noodle. I found that style of play boring, and only did it if I really had to because it was only one guy taking any damage. But played incorrectly? She’s cool. Juno feels the closest to that level of mobility while bringing along healing right now, and I’m going to enjoy it before the devs pry off Juno’s kneecaps with a crowbar.
omfg i didnt know that!! thats crazy. i wish played during that time cuz shes seem unplayable if the enemy dps or tank are competent . theyll pick on only you all game (ashe widows genjis etc) I
Yea idm if i lose alot mercy mains deserve their buffs anyways
Yeah its really fun up until you start losing every game because you aren’t killing 2 every fight and the DPS on your team are just as useless as they (almost) always are except now you can’t really compensate for it because mercy can’t really kill or confirm on her own.
I find it very difficult to use damage boost, because teammates keep catching bullets, arrows and grenades like nobody’s business. The most success I’ve had was with Zarya and Sigma, because they kinda avoid damage from time to time.
She has a 100dps pistol. When the bullets were smaller it was easier to land those 40 dmg headshots.
In lower ranks she can just ga to a high ground and glock a sniper in the head from behind or above.
Once people get better aim, it becomes riskier to do that.
But if a mercy doesn’t get any elims, even through just using melee on a low health enemy (punching a rein to death on mercy is very fun on the killfeed) then they really aren’t pulling their weight in that regard.
Even if it’s just a few potshots at a flanker, she should do that.
its been a while but this was the last time i played her.
i played HER WAY MORE during overwatch 1 but she was constantly messed with in 2 and yea i really got into moira in the beginng of two. still i should go back to the angel for a while… i just wont pocket the old man with the rifle much anymore
