"Mercy is so easy to play"

Then play her, if she isnt a difficult hero to play. So many toxic people out here saying how she is a braindead, no skill support…yet those same toxic players dont even know to fly to teammates.

“All you need to do is point and heal, its not hard” yet once again, those same toxic players dont even know how to do that.

If she is such an easy support to play, then prove it because you can easily spot the difference between a Mercy that knows what to do and a Mercy who has no clue.

But according to toxic players, she is a braindead hero, so even for those who have no clue on how to play mercy, they should have no problem playing her right?

Truth is, the most difficult thing about playing Mercy is being a babysitter for the bratty children that annoy you. But you put up with it since its your job to heal and you wanna win.

I’ve seen some of the best DPS and tanks play her and all I can say is I felt like tossing my monitor out the window with how horrifically they played her.

Mercy has a different subset of skills that I severely lack, thus my win rate with her is like 20%. Also her playstyle frustrate me, like playing full support in MMORPG that rely on team to carry you to level up or do anything.

I perform much better on Ana, Baptise, Zen, Lucio, Kiriko. I like the options to duel when being flank, while being able to support my team. I have more opportunity to make plays if my team is lacking.

No, thanks, i am not playing an FPS game to be an autoaim slave healbot.

Thanks, but I prefer Lucio or Ana. Mercy is just soooo boring. But good Mercy’s are very fun to hunt. So mobile and evasive.

Personally the reason i don’t care for her is that i think everyone on the 5 man team needs to be putting out kills. Even with her damage boost, it doesnt compare to another body outputting damage. The rez, while useful, is harder to pull off without getting yourself killed because 5v5. Even if she does pull it off, at least half the time, the teamfight has already been decided because, 5v5

I think she worked in ow1, but I feel she holds the team back now.

Well there you go you said it yourself that’s the most difficult thing about her, and you’re right people get kind of testy when they think their 15 minutes of gameplay is being wasted because a random teammate is picking a subpar hero that just doesn’t cut it in the current state of the game.

The utility Mercy gives is low compared to nearly any other support. Practically all she does well is heal and that’s just not good enough. For damage boost she’s only boosting one target by 30%. Your target has to actually hit stuff for it to work otherwise she’s standing there being useless. Otherwise if the mercy player could actually aim they are much better off whipping out their pistol and shooting the target instead. Or they’re just better off on a different support that could output more damage instead of just trying to boost someone else’s damage by 30%.

Rez is nice but as someone else mentioned usually by the time you get to use it you’re going to be down yet another player in the meantime and you’re putting yourself in danger and I would wager that half the time a resurrect results in the Mercy’s death anyway, especially once you get higher up in the ranks if you think the other team is going to let Mercy get away with her rez like teams let her do in lower ranks you’re quite mistaken.

Now let’s compare her just to Zen who can use two orbs at once, one which allows each teammate who hits the discorded enemy to do 30% more damage instead of just one teammate if it were damaged boosted by Mercy. So if every available teammate focuses on the discord orb target, that’s 120% total extra damage being done to it, and if Mercy herself decides to whip out her pistol and shoot the target then there’s another potential 30%.

Zen can also heal while his damage boost is in effect and he can attack himself while everything is happening. This is greatly unlike Mercy who can only do one thing at a time. Zen arguably has a much better ultimate as well.

Lucio is the best healer in the game by far to boot. Survivability, game-clutching ult, able to put out dps while healing multiple teammates simultaneously, and can get your team to the point faster with speed boost.

He’s the GOAT. It’s not even close. 5v5 just made him stronger.

Agreed. Hes top tier. I personally hate playing him haha. I always go Kiroko, Ana, or Moira

Well she does has one of the lowest skill floor in the game. Her kit is pretty forgiving.

Really, anyone can pick her up and immediately understand what they should do.

Oh, is this the reason why she has gotten the Karen hairstyle in OW2?

Those three are really good as well. Kiriko imo is the next best healer after Lucio. The cleanse effect and ability to quick dive and get out of trouble really makes her a viable pick.

The only downside is it’s essentially required that you learn to hit her headshots. You won’t deal a lot of damage throughout the game, but the damage you will deal is more significant, if that makes any sense.

So u dont like the brig that peels for her ana in the Backline and dont do kills at all, too?

There’s nothing wrong with having a variety of playstyles per role. Look at the DPS role. You have autoaim, you have hitscan, you have stuff like Sym and Mei, Junkrat, Echo, just a variety of different weapons and playstyles.

Why is it so bad that some people want to play the supportiest support possible and not focus on damage? That doesn’t make them worse players, they just prefer a different playstyle. I love supporting in games, enabling people to make those big plays and watching them go crazy. Doesn’t make me less skilled, just a different skillset.

Not every skill has to be about murder. SOMEONE at Blizzard designed Abathur in HOTS, a character that did nothing but indirectly support people through a variety of methods. Stuff like that can be really fun when done well and multiple playstyles should exist in games.

Comments like this are just derogatory to the entire role.

I can play Mercy better than most Mercy players. I know who to pocket, Mercy is the easiest hero in the game.

Her positioning is easy too, having 1.5 second GA/ superjump

You wanna see the best Valk pistol kills you’ve ever seen? yayaya

Nothing derogatory about the truth.

I haven’t felt the need to play Mercy in OW2. Even if we have a Pharah I’m usually better off going Zen/Ana or even Brig to support her. Unless of course they request a Mercy.

Zen is actually really good with Pharah. His orb is enough to keep her sustained and then on top of that you don’t have to pay attention as long as she’s in line of sight.
