not fun to play against…

i see this a lot. usually people say this when they hate a hero but you cant blame the hero only the player that fails to adapt

I agree that Mercy is a frustrating hero to face, especially when you want to kill the pocket. But at the same time: she is needed and also people really love to play her.

Most of my playtime is with Mercy, but I also think that for example rez needs to go back to an ult. Maybe not mass rez, but an alternative version of a single ress with maybe some boost effect for a few seconds for the rezzed target. Also maybe change damage boost to something else? Also offensive, but not boosting numbers… maybe reload, projectile speed or something else.

But besides changing rez… I dont think that there is a way to change mercy so, that she does not become just a worse version of “insert support here”.

After season 1, she is not fun to play. Period.

The rest of topics in here are just skill diffs from aim chads thinking supports are OP when their so called “plays” couldn’t be any more silver.

Depends on your rank.

Gm 3 to gm1 meh
Gm 5 to gm3 fair.
Master and below…. Crazy overtuned

What support do you feel it is fun to play against ?

I dont like the pocketing… And Rez… Both need to be gone.

But the question is how can you stop it without gutting her

Both

I have no reason to pick any other support but mercy. The situations where she isn’t viable are very rare.

Maybe you should taxi your Mercy back from spawn, be observant where she is so she doesn’t fall off the map or generally protect her if you want a pocket.

I dont see the issue with blaming a hero for not being fun to play against. If adapting isnt fun, why would i want to do it?

Its not that i fail to adapt to widow, i just find the playstyle disempowering and boring.

Needs to adapt.

Meanwhile me: Has learned to kill every other support or at least pester them enough to where they panic. But not Mercy.

Heaven forbid I’m able to do that to a Mercy easily.

No

Lazy hero, lazy design. Seeing her (and LW) in my games ‘‘i sleep’’. Because many lazy heroes OW2 will never be taken seriously as a game.

Pretty much. She can make fighting her pocket annoying, but if you want anything else-more damage potential, more utility, more healing-pretty much any other support outclasses her.

The biggest issue now is that she really doesn’t have a choice but to pocket because her GA is so bugged that she can no longer reliably use her mobility.

Eh, I’d say no.

Rez and a hard pocket playstyle are issues, especially as the latter is usually immediately a long range hard hitting hero (Widow, Ashe, Pharah, 76), but that would require a mini rework to adjust efficacy and the only thing this dev team seems to be interested in is fiddling with GA. Personally, I’d happily trade Rez for a better in fight ability and GA reverts, I miss OW1 ping-pong Mercy. It’s way harder to accomplish now so I feel relegated to pocketing more, especially with the recent passive nerf. Jumping in and out of a firefight is less viable as I need more time to even begin to recover, and SympReco does not really account for much in fight self sustain.

I do feel she’s been cemented as a “better” Support since she can cover most of the genuinely oppressive feeling Supports weaknesses while they cover her lack of raw output and team saving capabilities. I do think that is a bit of a problem but I feel that problem has more to do with overall increased demand for healing, every post launch Support healing more and multitasking more/better, and there being no real reason to run Mercy with like Brig/Lucio/Zen over running her with Ana/Kiri/Illari/Baps. It’s way easier to go massive sustain+great utilities+great damage over weaker sustain but maybe arguably a bit more utility and (more) time to apply damage (if running Illari+Mercy this part does not apply as Illari only needs to stop damaging to burst heal with beam, unlike Ana/Baps/Kiri who need to alternate to heal and poke/kill effectively). You can also go pretty full beans into heal town by running Mercy with Weaver or Moira.

They should have left the nerf on her guardian angel ability but too many crying mercy mains changed it back

It wasn’t though? It’s still there. Only her basic GA has the 1.5 sec cooldown. Any additional tech used and it can be as long as 3 seconds for the cooldown to start.

GA is also now so bugged that it’s just better to NOT move all game.

Uhm so? What is the point?

I can make the same argument about every single hero in this game! What does this changes?
