Mercy is garbage now

She’s received too many Nerfs now. I think that it’s time to increase her damage buff ability to make her useful in a different way to use her

She’s still a strong pick. She just isn’t unrivaled, must-have queen of all supports anymore. This is a good thing.

Mate she isn’t good at all compared to ana or moira just revert her or even change her in more fun and exciting ways instead of being so stubborn you can’t admit this mess of a rework was a disaster

I don’t think the rework is bad albeit I only have seen footage from pre-it as I joined late. To me THIS is Mercy and I enjoy her character. She also has fine healing still at 50h/s.

Not in the undo a successful rework camp. Sorry.

The rework was not successful , it took blizzard 13 nerfs to tone her down and now for most mercy players Rez is unrewarding , her gameplay is hollow and she feels un engaging to play true some people still find her fun but your spreading lies when you say the rework was successful and also 50h/ps is not good and didn’t need touched when it was 60

She was a must-pick with it for months and months. Now every support is viable. It was necessary.

You see mercy isn’t viable

Except… she is. Her healing is pretty much on par with the main healers, a little behind. She has Res. She has damage boost. Huge mobility. She just isn’t unchallenged queen anymore.

Battle Mercy is topkek, Look up the OW League player Neptuno he plays battle mercy

Mercy spends the vast majority of her time healing. Ana and Moira split their time between healing and damage, and yet Ana keeps up with Mercy at high rank and Moira blows her out of the water. No, Mercy’s healing is not on par with the “main healers”, and it shouldn’t be. Mercy was designed as THE “main healer”, and her healing done per-game shouldn’t even be contested because she does very little else.

You said in a prior post that Mercy now is what Mercy always has been to you because you joined the game late, but I am speaking as someone who has been playing since game launch: Mercy now is a hollow shell of a hero compared to what she once was before they reworked her. Her rework was not successful, in any way, unless success was defined solely by the removal of her best and most feel-good ability.

Resurrect as an ultimate was a beautiful design for her kit, far superior to anything she has had since. She was never a must-pick before her rework. She was balanced. She felt powerful. She had her hero moments where she was the star of the show, and got rewarded appropriately with Play of the Game replays. With that power, however, came some pretty harsh and exploitable weaknesses that made her incredibly difficult to play–yet still viable especially in seasons 4 & 5–in higher ranks.

Mercy’s rework removed all of her weaknesses, from expanding upon her formerly limited GA mobility with the hop mechanic to changing the inconsistently valuable Resurrect ultimate to an always-available ability on E. By removing her exploitable weaknesses, the Valkyrie rework made Mercy much stronger initially, while at the same time removing all of the thought and strategy that went into playing her. Why worry about careful positioning when you can fly past your allies with spacebar instead of only just to them? Why track and predict enemy ultimates so that you can duck behind cover and then Resurrect, when your ultimate can now be used at the start of every fight? Why bother trying to be the last one standing on your team, when you no longer have any power with 5 allied corpses around you?

It’s great that you apparently like her now, but from what I can see you only have 4 hours on her and play in low gold SR. You haven’t even begun to understand and appreciate the full depth of the hero in high-level play, and there is no way that you will ever know how much Mercy has lost, how much Mercy has changed for the worse, compared to the beautifully elegant, deceptively complex design that she had before Blizzard ruined her.

I have 222 hours on Mercy across all game modes as of this post, and I play in Masters level competitive. I regret none of the time I spent and I can still get some enjoyment from playing Mercy, but having understood the intricacies of her kit and the skill required to maximize her potential before the Valkyrie rework, I feel truly angry about what the dev team has done to her. Nothing makes me want to leave this game forever more than being the last one standing in every team fight as Mercy and being rewarded for my skilled play with utter helplessness. Had you played her before her rework for any significant length of time, I’m positive that you would feel that way too.

Mercy haters will not stop, unless Rez is removed.

all they had to do was nerf res either by removing the temporary invincibility or revive at a % of your max HP

She is still very good. Good players get a lot of value out of her. Bad players, not so much.

Maybe. Maybe not. Who knows

Not even slightly. None of that was convincing. I’ve heard it all before. I’ve played her quite a lot more than 4 hours too but at low elos her presence is harder to climb with than say Moira.

you are thinking too onedimensional

moira has her own problems with range specifically and high ground, moira is really really good in a deathball and will outheal anything

ana is much more skill dependent than mercy and has no mobility, thus she can out heal a mercy if you are good enough

mercy has tons of mobility and heals without the need to worry about aim at all, she can easily transition between allies, high ground or not, she can easily pocket someone and she has one of the most powerful abilities in the game

it’s not just all raw healing numbers

Then we wouldn’t have ever had super meta mercy … If only

Well now mercy’s value is much more depending on players timing to use damage boost now. Now the idiots who used to claim her no skill required can be definitely outclassed and shut up now. I’ve helped my team to wipe the enemy team with switching boosting targets without ults. Got 5 good teammate endorse after the match. Ending with 30 offensive assists.

But that’s not what Emily is saying the problem is, the problem is the fact that mercy is hollow to play ,un engaging and is just not fun for most mercy players anymore. If mas rez isn’t coming back then we need something new that will keep her on the same playing field as other supports but will make her more fun to play.
