Yeah it’s a bit of a piss take when Ana has had more than twice the pickrate of Mercy for months yet she’s only been banned once and that was because the developers picked her to be banned.
The 4 DPS that were up for banning all had an equal pickrate though. So yes, we have the right to be upset.
Id McCree and Widowmaker had 2x less pickrate than Ashe and Hanzo, I’d understand frustration.
I mean rightfully so. Widowmaker and McCree were top picks for the week. Both the 1st and 2nd spot.
Mercy was underplayed by Ana (who sat at 78%) and was picked as a Hero Ban.
I don’t think it’s right that every single other week McCree and Widow are banned, THATS really dumb. But I do think Mercy mains have the right to be a bit mad given the fact she wasn’t the highest pick rate.
Out of how many supports vs how many DPS?
People are also ticked that she and Bap got banned TWICE already, when they are sitting low…and not to mention Mercy is more often just picked as an off support.
That’s the thing that has people more annoyed than anything right now. That two struggling supports got banned twice over the others that are doing well.
I feel like the threshold for hero pools are too low. When Ana has avoided the ban for this long, it makes you wonder if this system is working well…
The fact that Ana is sitting with the highest pickrates and a healthy winrate…and it was Mercy who got banned over her.
I mean I don’t like how hero pools were implemented. I think they could have worked…either if they were there from the start or we had a more balanced roster.
But as I see them now…they just feel like they’re trying to arbitrarily inflate numbers for certain heroes. Feels a bit dishonest.
The fact that there are fewer supports than dps SHOULD mean that she has a higher chance of getting picked. McCree and Widow had each already been banned twice as well, and it’s always as a pair.
I’m fine with them banning McCree and I’m fine with them banning widow. But when you ban both of them together every other week then you’re just using hero bans as an excuse to be lazy with balance
Ana had a 41.4 % pickrate for OWL.
Mercy had a 7.1%.
THIS is why people are mainly complaining for the ban.
I’m surprised Ana isn’t banned.
As much as I would enjoy a week without Ball, I can already foresee Echo and Pharah in comp. And that leaves Ashe and Soldier overworking again.
At least no Pharmecho.
The picks are not random not pick rate based.
If we look, these bans are clearly aimed at testing Echo: she returns to Comp, but this time without the support that has synergy with her (Mercy).
They also remove the two hitscans that could do better against Echo, but this time are testing out S76’s and Ashe chances against her.
These bans are hand-picked, make no doubt about that.
They’re not testing out soldier and ashe’s chances against her because they’ve already done that. 2 bans ago when echo was introduced McCree and Widow were banned. We still have not yet had a week of getting to rest McCree OR Widow against Echo

Jeff said himself that they considered removing Echo from being a hero pool candidate but they wanted to “stay true to the system” (paraphrased).
If they weren’t going to make Echo exempt, they wouldn’t start faking the system now.
Not true at all! It’s Ana like every game and Lucio.
But sure, even though Ana has nearly an 80% pick rate, we’ll blame Moira who has a similar pick rate to Mercy 
but lets just ignore that fact and say it’s Moira who is always picked.
Y’all are fishing for excuses to call Moira OP at this point.
Let’s not forget that Moira had the 3rd highest pick rate last week when she was banned like 21% and Mercy was 22% and Lucio was 19% but Ana was like 78%
I mean, McCree and Widow were banned last time, and the only difference now is that Pharah and Echo have no Mercy pocket. Ashe and Soldier were barely managing. McCree is just more reliable than the two. As sad as it is.
But these bans aren’t hand-picked. That’s a bit of a tinfoil over there.
In Diamond and below its Moira + Ana.
Lucio doesn’t bring enough heals, and players can’t get effective use from the speed boost.
In lower ranks, there’s a massive emphasis on healing which Ana and Moira both bring to the table.
You’re so narrow-minded that you ignored the many times I called Ana OP and haven’t once said Moira is OP.

Not without Mercy they haven’t.
And it’s clear that McCree and Widow will do good against Echo.
Anyone that thinks these bans are random (after almost all the hitscans got banned the week in which Echo got introduced, and Echo getting banned the week right after she shown herself to be quite strong) is just… plain delusional.
I rather stick to my “delusional” opinion than believe everyone is out to get Mercy.
Moira was BANNED THIS WEEK. Of course she’s lower. LMAO.
