Mercy is a bad healer!

In my experience inside the game I consider that mercy is a bad healer especially in these points
1- healing only one player
2- her ult are not useful
3- when she pocket her friend ( this is alot happened)

but she have

  1. high mobility
  2. unlimited heal without reload or charging
  3. can ress.
  4. when ult can heal out of battlefield
  5. when ult you have unlimited ammo
  6. she can buff your damage
  7. she can heal herself without spending skills on it

Some of the current issues with Mercy appear to be the following:

  • She appears to be more effective when played like an off-healer
  • It’s a struggle getting ‘on fire’
  • Resurrect, a standard unearned ability on a fixed cooldown of 30 seconds, doesn’t really fit as a standard ability and has the longest cooldown of any standard ability in the game by far. This ability also causes healing downtime
  • Valkyrie, short of going Battle Mercy, is pretty much a flying supercharger or temporarily reverted Mercy with chain beams. Neither necessarily potentially game changing or fun. If you go Battle Mercy and teammates die from lack of healing then be prepared to receive some anger. It also causes temporary disruption to the current beam (potentially causing a slight moment of healing downtime)
  • She appears to be struggling to hold her identity as a strong single target healer, with the other current main healers potentially being a better option if you want an actual main healer

Why do I mention ‘healing downtime’?
In a developer update, this was essentially brushed upon. Part of the reason the developers reworked Mercy was due to the ‘hide and res’ aspect effectively causing healing downtime and encouraging teammates to die. Ironically two abilities in Mercy’s kit still cause healing downtime.

The only three things that Mercy really has going for her is the fact she can boost damage, although you now have to be able to predict, her self-survival and finally her mobility. Suffice to say she could certainly do with a bit further work.

Just cause you say so doesnt mean that she’s bad in general or when others play her either you like it or not.

Im not talking about the person who plays with it i mean the hero as herself

Idc what you’re talking about. If you dont get it you never will.

point three renders this argument invalid.

Mercy works better in less burst-damage focused metas that have plenty of DPS & sustained damage flying around.

You give Mercy the ability to outheal high amounts of burst-damage (which is pretty much almost all Tank-metas) and she instantly becomes the best Support in the game.

Do you only see my subjects ??? Wtf

I don’t agree with this.

Mercy has generally low heals (50hps, up to 60hps in valk) but consider this:

She is the most consistent healer in Overwatch with a point and click beam, the only hero to offer a damage boost without needed an ultimate or even a cooldown. Has one of the best abilities on the game (rez) and the second most mobile support (I consider Lucio to be first).
On top of this, she is a very easy champion to pick up and play across all ranks, she is also able to be punished less in lower ranks due to lower mechanical skill/awareness.

Imo, she is a strong but balanced healer. She can heal without needing to reload or refil resources making her healing output pretty insane and although aoe healing is probably stronger, being a hard pocket to a hyper carry is pretty oppressive.

Her ult, whilst probably a little boring, is very useful I find - and AoE 60hps chain heal OR damage boost (like a mini Orisa ult), higher mobility and easier access to rez and the ability to target enemy snipers to either kill or force bad positioning. It’s amazing as an offensive pushing ult, I think. It also charges very quickly.

The pocketing friend thing can be a problem but that’s just them being a bad Mercy player. She is in a great spot and I hope they don’t change her at all.

You’re obviously joking, right?

Mercy is incredibly strong. Her mobility is ridiculous, her hitbox is tiny, her damage is INSANE, her stupid damage boost is too good, her healing is too easy to use, and her ultimate is a get out of jail free card. And don’t get me started on her hp regeneration.

Mercy needs more nerfs, if you ask me. I’d recommend her hp being reduced to 150, her hp/s being reduced to 40/s and valkyrie duration being reduced to 5 seconds. I’ve had enough of her dominating games.

WHAT?! :scream:

Mercy is a fabulous healer you just have to play her a lot to know it I’ve Maine’s her for 2 years so I’m pretty used to her play style :video_game:

She just takes a lot of time and Patience :upside_down_face:

Not to mention don’t throw all of us Mercy mains in the same boat it’ll sink also not all of us are like that

I feel like mercy is fine outside of the “footsie battle” playstyle that happens a lot in teams with random players. She’s super useful if your team is hyper aggressive, because they take a lot of space for her to operate in and allow her to damage boost more to quickly down enemies.

She’s also good in ranged comps because they tend to take less damage, meaning her lower but consistent heals can be used well.

But that “stand in the choke” drawn out teamfight is her weakness (which isn’t optimal anyway). It seems like Mercy needs fights to be decided quickly and decisively. If the enemy is pushing into you too quickly, you can’t use rez and you can’t put out enough healing to sustain.

Almost never the best pick. Almost never an awful pick.

You are not well if you think this lmfao

Imagine how broken she would be, if she had Valk chain heals ALWAYS.

@MąÐÐŷ-2641 this implies that the player os also at fault to you

This would happen in Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare - the support class “Flower” had a heal beam, a heal pot and “revive”. Many times it was more efficient to revive a teammate to full health rather than try to keep them alive with the heal beam. You would end up focusing heals on the less wounded teammates and just revive the others once they went down. It’s definitely an issue with this type of game mechanic.

Imo, she’d be fine if she had her mass rez as an ultimate. At the very least, it would offer a counter to ult spam again and give her a “grand crescendo” after healing the whole game.

I see ur name is her ult that’s why xD btw i have to give u like because u reply to all my subjects LoL

Mercy is absolutely the most garbage of the healers at this point. She has good mobility and damage boost but on the “fun factor” she is a solid 1.
