I might make more of these highlight intro ideas. They’re fun to brainstorm and I’d like to get my ideas out before I forget.
Now on to the highlight intro.
Starts out with the POV of a resurrected ally (you can tell via yellow hue around the screen)
You then see Mercy constantly flying around the screen, in and out of the camera shot.
The camera then zooms into Mercy for an epic back shot, as Mercy’s wings expand mid air (Valkyrie activates) and Mercy holds a staff in her left hand healing, and the pistol in her right hand, shooting a bullet , followed by the air whooshing sound(dont know what to call it).
Mercy’s face would be at a side angle with a serious but calm look, with her one visible eye looking right at you. All while she still has her back towards the player.
I was expecting a salty mercy player who was like “a clip where mercy is healing her target, but they die anyways because her healing sucks, so she goes into res, but dies because of the stupid animation”
we already have a resurrect and battle mercy highlight intro
so i’m on the fence about your idea to basically do both, not that it’s a “bad” idea, just, an observation that it’s a little… well, similar to what we have
That reminds me of a player who suggested they change Brig’s defender intro, and instead make it so her shield instantly breaks and she “gets gunned down in front of the camera”. I couldn’t help but laugh
I like doing this! I had a highlight idea for Sombra.
Since she hasn’t gotten a new one and the only ability she doesn’t have in a highlight is her translocator, I had a translocator idea.
It starts Sombra shooting in front and behind her. She then gets booped, throws her translocator, and the camera zooms to her face as she smiles and laughs, and then you see her translocate while it is still zoomed in on her face as a helix rocket flies through and hits the ground behind her.
The first part is kind of similar to her resurrect intro, but it would be cool to get an intro showing off Valkyrie. Maybe it starts on the ground, she shoots up, the camera pans up to her hovering in valk, then activating the staff and all the heal beams burst out the front?
I forgot to mention, Mercy isn’t resurrecting the target, they’ve already been resurrected and it’s supposed to show them getting off the ground to then see Mercy in action. Probably an important detail I forgot to mention.
I could see it zooming into her wings and dramatically zooming out to see the transformation. I love being creative and thinking of these types of ideas.
Edit: maybe there could be an orange shimmer from her wings when it is zoomed it!

I do like the idea though! It’d be neat to get a new highlight intro. She hasn’t gotten one since when, the first Lunar New Year? I know she’s gotten a lot of cosmetics, but honestly I only use a select few skins. Would be nice to mix up her highlights.
Sombra ALSO has the best highlight intro in the game, being Hack.
I think this is why they haven’t given Sombra a new one. You can’t really top Hack. But I would love to see her get a new one, especially to include her translocator or her translocating, like in my idea above.
I’m for Sombra getting some love too of course. Honestly I’m hoping they do another cosmetic dump some point in the future like they did when Blizzard World came out. It would give a reason to look foreword to lootboxes in between events for those of us who have pretty much all the cosmetics.
Also, I just thought of a new Mercy highlight intro, and I think I like this one more.
POV of player getting resurrected by Mercy, all normal and what not, and then she proceeds to show a receipt with a medical fee of like 10,000 credits.
Lmao that could be a meme one, like her whambulance line, while being satirical to our medical system.
She is shown reviving someone and then she could be facing away from the camera with a giant yellow glow coming from her hands to build suspense. At the end of the highlight, she quickly turns around and flashes a medical bill to the players.
