Mercy gliding permanently at the ceiling needs to go

It allowed becase you dont shoot her. I can permanently glide and enjoy it right before some hitscan desided to shoot me. Permanently gliding almost impossible in CC and very situated in qp

I am asking this question since at least 2 seasons.

People need to aim better as DPS but also cut down on her mobility or rework some of her healing methods. It’s better than last season but it’s still annoying to deal with.

When the factual diff between winning or losing a match in low-to-mid ranks is caused by a Support zipping through the sky who nobody wishes to focus because they either can’t or won’t, a thing even Mercy mainz do acknowledge, then you know something has seriously gone wrong.

You said it yourself, it’s a skill issue, right now she’s arguably in her weakest state she’s never been, if your team can’t kill her it’s not the Mercy’s fault.

What heroes? Rein and baybe a few other melee heroes like Doomfist or Brigitte? every other hero can annoy her or force her to take cover if she decides to stay in the air unproteccted.

Yes it’s a skill issue, that much is certain.

But there is some truth to the fact that she is part of the problem.
She has insane mobility, one of the better one’s in the entire game actually as long as she stays close to her team. A very slim hitbox. And crazy aerial acrobatics + passive regen.

She gets a decent amount of viability in lower ranks because at that level most DPS players have quite a bad aim and ignore her for the most part, because they aren’t kidding themselves that they can shoot her dead.

Simply her existance on the field can easily tip the scales in her teams favour and if you are stuck with bad players on DPS (and most of them aren’t great) you’ve already lost.
Yeah a Tank can get her too but the problem here is he has other stuff to be doing than going on a wild goose chanse after a high-mobility Support and abandoning everything else.

Does mercy still have that quick heal passive?

I think it’s been slowed down from last season, but I might be mistaken.
The passive is still there though.

You can say this about almost every hero, the difference here is the aim (skill) on that particular rank.
Mercy is “oppressive” in lower ranks she get’s more value than Ana as an example (her healing is more consistent which in lower ranks is key) becasue ana has a harder time hitting healing shots, while in upper ranks it’s the complete opposite, then what do we do?
Nerf Mercy so shes easier to kill in lower ranks then be even worse in upper one’s or do we buff Ana so she gets a easier time hitting shots in lower ranks then she’s a GOD in upper one’s?

Balance can’t be done from lower elo’s, if so the game would feel terrible and ranking up would be a joke, take Reaper as an example, currently he self heals 35% of the damage done, on an old patch (OW1 GOATS meta era) they buffed it to 50% to try to kill the heavy tank meta. In lower ranks he was a nightmare to play against (basically unkillable) while in upper ranks was as useless as before.

If you’d nerf her mobility she’d have to be buffed elsewhere then. As it stands currently she’s not even that good of a pick and is more of a niche thing for supporting hitscan heroes.

This goes for every support. Who could’ve known when you ignore enemy supports they’ll provide utility and heal teammates :roll_eyes:

Not only that but its also idiotic to think its purely the DPS’s job to shoot supports, when EVERYONE should be doing that. That’s a massive self-report there.

Mercy is the worst designed character in the game in my opinion, but we all know how protected overly precious Mercy players are. Damage boost should have gone years ago, but it’s still in the game for some reason.

They should make Junkrat and Genji fly so they can counter Mercy.

Sounds like a skill issue to me.

Mercy is at the worst state she’s ever been rn.
Her GA cooldown is effectively doubled when she uses any techs and her Passive got nerfed too alongside the healing reverts.

It’s not a Mercy problem that metal ranks lack the aim to hit Mercy, there is a reason stuff like PharMercy is twice as good in low ranks than in higher ranks.

Killing Mercy at any rank is not as crazy difficult as y’all pretend it is. One careless superjump gives you enough of an opening to instakill dive her with just D.va alone, let alone with a DPS with better damage output.

I’m talking about a quickplay situation where people just want to have fun and hate being forced to switch due hard counters being more prevalent than ever in OW2 even though the devs said they want to move away from that.

Literally just lower the maximum height she can get with her “super jump” slightly and thats it. Then you can go continue crying about your one-trick hero until she is 100% pickrate again after some minor buff.
