I recently switched over to PC after taking a break for several months from Overwatch and have been playing Mercy a bit while I get reacclimated. For whatever reason, Mercy keeps pulling out her pistol while I’m trying to heal, damage boost, or guardian angel. I have tried unbinding “next weapon”, “previous weapon”, and even the “1” and “2” keys to stop it from happening.
Does anyone have any suggestions of something else that I can try to stop her from pulling her pistol out every few seconds? At this point, I would rather not have access to the pistol at all than have it auto-deploy when I’m trying to heal, boost, or GA.
Never had this happening by itself. You sure you’re not accidentally using mouse wheel up/down when this happens?

Wow. You’re the man and I’m an idiot. I didn’t think of that. I had bound my mouse wheel to my ultimate and didn’t think about scroll up and scroll down when I sifted through the settings. I just unbound them. Noob kb/mouse player. lol

i use to have this problem on pubg. was like in a firefight everytime getting the jump on people then i would switch guns for some reason… im like screw that and unbound mousewheel previous/next weapon keybind
This used to happen to me when I had the mouse wheel scroller bound as my weapon change button.
I wouldn’t notice, but I’d accidentally over-scroll or my finger might brush against the wheel while playing.
After a while of thinking it was a bug, I decided to bind my weapon change button as the mouse wheel, but instead of scrolling it I had to actually press it. That way I’m not having to get used to an entirely different button, but I can’t accidentally change weapons during inopportune moments.
I highly suggest you do the same. It’s been a game-changer.
yeah that’s the sad thing. you can put push to talk for example on M5 for all controls but for sombra for example, it stays at ‘ when it’s bound to hello. it doesn’t always change and unbind when its set from all controls, etc.

Fortunately, unbinding next/previous weapon from scroll wheel fixed it for me. I still can’t believe that I overlooked that. I’d much rather hit 1 or 2 to switch Mercy’s weapons anyway. I use scroll wheel press as my ult on all characters and just globally disabled next/previous weapon.
This happened to me with my former Logitech mouse, i had the keybinding on the wheel bound. Current G403 doesnt do that anymore. I also changed to keybinding before.
