This is not a new thing. It’s been around since the game’s launch, and yet it hasn’t been fixed ever.
- You can’t take a screenshot of the expanded chat. When you open the chat to write in, it expands to show more lines of the discussion. When you send your message or cancel the writing, it contracts. Since the only way to view the expanded chat is to write, the text input negates the screenshot button, and thus prevents taking screenshots of an exchange in the chat. To take the screenshot you must shrink the chat, which means the screenshot can only show about 3 or 4 recent messages.
- You can’t select a hero using only your keyboard. You can press H to open the hero select screen. You can use your left/right keys to navigate the heros list. But you can’t select the hero with anything other than your mouse. Space doesn’t do anything. Enter opens up the chat. Down key doesn’t highlight the SELECT button or anything for that matter, and Tab shows the enemy team. Pressing H closes the select screen. Being able to select heroes with the keyboard alone would be a fairly great quality of life sort of thing. Before a match starts, people are likely not have their hands ready. Maybe they grabbed a snack. Maybe they grabbed a snack when they died and they want to switch heroes with one hand, but… they need the mouse to confirm their selection.
These two things have been bothering me for years. They’re not gamebreaking in any way, but they’re super annoying when you try to do these normal actions with no success.
Please fix these.
