Mei and Tracer. Is Mei falling out of playability?

So, previously, Mei was dealing 150 on a headshot and Tracer had 150 HP.
Now with Tracer having 175 HP, Mei doesn’t really have a way to kill her anymore. I feel like Mei needs something to deal with Tracer, as the 150 break point was a big part of Mei’s viability prior. With Mei’s freeze gone, lack of mobility, and now unable to effectively deal with a few problem heroes, I’m finding it’s getting harder and harder to play Mei anywhere outside of King’s Row. That Hanzo and Soldier just do Mei’s job better.

that was the problem with this change. breakpoints drastically altered and heroes dumpstered because of it. i really wish we could revert and i even play heroes that really benefit from the change. it wont happen because of ego tho. they will bandaid fix till it becomes a walking zombie

Mei is still ok imo, but arguably weaker than before. She’s very tanky now.

The auto heal and self heal and increased HP allows Mei more room to escape if a battle goes south.

She probably needs one or more of the following:

More damage on her primary
More hp/s from ice block
More ammo

Also maybe more hp per segment of ice wall but let’s face it, people aren’t breaking ice wall any faster than they used to so it’s not essential.

that really benefits dive heroes more than heroes like mei… by like a lot, and sombra of course heh.

IMO hanzo and soldier still are not doing anything near to her job. They’re ranged and pressure.

She is close range and “defense” DPS. Peeling and brawling with tanks. Right now Cassidy does her job WAY better. His grenade slows people down AND does decent damage WHILE he shoots people. Mei’s wall is paper since it’s giga-nerf and the only time it works is if you have a ground bound unit who panics when their S stops working.

I think her problem is currently with everyone having massive health pools her DPS sucks. Yeah it’s “easier” to hit icicles now but it still has it’s super wonk cadence and wind up and since her M1 still does the same damage it used to, everyone just eats it with their extra health. Not to mention with all the armor out there it gets even further blunted.

She’s a DPS who cannot level consistent and significant DPS or do her mini-job and the change made it worse.

The self heal allows Mei to escape if things go south? Realistically, if that happens and Mei goes into her Cryo Freeze, she gets surrounded and blown up the instant she comes out. It only stalls her death by 4 seconds staggering.

Outside of the pro scene, where teams can get insane value out of wall, mei hasnt been particularly good. Her pickrate, even when she was “meta” was extremely low.

She saw some ladder use when bastion was overbuffed, because even a moderately good mei player can trap people with wall efficiently enough for bastion to reduce everything to a fine red mist.

Mei is first and foremost a DPS hero, not a wall bot.

And right now she really sucks as a DPS hero. She cant threaten Tracer (a big point in high ranks for her), she cant outduel anyone because meta DPS just have much higher burst than them.

Anyone trying to punish lone players with wall is just wasting their time. Just about every hitscan and flanker can stomp Mei.

Mei needs more self heal from her ice block, primary fire damage scaled up because it’s a beam, and a revert on the ammo nerf she got a few seasons back

What I’ve always wanted for her icicle is to get rid of that stupid delay when she fires. Feels so clunky
