{MEGATHREAD} Console Players Still Feeling like 2nd Class Citizens. [400 likes, 1500 responses]

Well, at least they are adding new console features, even if they forget to tell us.

Or tinfoil hat theory, there’s one crazy engineer in the bowels of the Blizzard campus who is moved by our situation, and secretly works on console improvements. Since the higher ups don’t know he’s done this, it doesn’t end up in the patch notes.

That is true, no denying that.

I just wish they’d be more transparent with us on Console and actually tell us that ‘X Item’ is coming in ‘Y patch’.

I know this second bit might be more wishful thinking on my part. Anyways, I also wish that it wouldn’t be taking this long for them to get these small things, which have already been in PC since day one might I add, implemented into Console as well. Even more so if it’s an item that we’ve been asking for before they even announced Overwatch League back in Blizzcon 2016.

I get that there’s the approval process and all. But Jeff has even admitted himself in an interview that both Sony and Microsoft have been very flexible with Blizzard, despite some complications. This was when he was asked about PTR for Consoles, back in April 2017.
(EDIT: Yeah; if you haven’t already guessed it or noticed it by now, I’ve done a crap ton of research just because of this thread alone.)

Wait… can we report Blizzard for toxicity

Preformatted text is a good way to post it. You can also use Control+Shift+C to allow the formatting of Preformatted Text to appear. Here’s a sample for you.

Hey thanks buddy! I pinned that comment for the 'tutorial’part of it!!

Has anyone felt a difference in the aim since the new patch???

Or am I just tripping?? It might be me since I have not played OW in a while and am now just trying it out again

Difference how? I use Ana more because of her ally assist slider. Sad part is if they made improvements, we’re left guessing because they conveniently forget to tell us anything. Hence this thread.

We never have been blind Blizzard. Why is it that you guys can very clearly be transparent with your PC Player-base, but magically somehow can’t be transparent with your Console Player-base? It’s better to own up to something than to keep it secret.

The lack of responses from you guys on the Overwatch Development Team is why this concern was thrust back into the forefront. Just tell us what we need to know. That isn’t a lot to ask from you guys! It’s like what Geoff himself stated yesterday in the Q&A:

Well, we still are, and have been, giving our feedback for many months. So why is it that you guys can’t follow up and RESPOND on said feedback? Hell, you guys aren’t even transparent to your Console Player-base in the VERY PATCH NOTES that are released! You guys certainly haven’t been transparent to your Console Player-base in over 2 months at the very least.

glad to see this back, this truly is an issue that shouldn’t be ignored

Question, is the push to talk working for any of you guys? I don’t know if people just refuse to talk to me or if it actually isn’t working…

Wasn’t working for me for when I tested it.

I might have a potential guess though as to why: There’s no way to change Voice Chat Mode between Open Mic and Push to Talk on Console. It’s there on PC though (of course).

On Console, it’s stuck on Open Mic (with no way to change it). It can be changed on PC within the Sound sub-menu in Options.

So, yeah; either there’s something that I’m missing, or the Push to Talk control option is a useless Control on Console until the ability to change between Voice Chat Modes gets implemented on Console as well.

Yeah tested in all the possible ways and made a specific topic about this. Nobody gets it to work so it’s basically a useless implementation.

Does it still count?! I mean it’s the last console specific addition since ana friendly aim assistance and before that was linear ramp fix in september…

I’d still count it personally (that’s just me though). However, I’d post a topic in Technical Support (or Bug Report; your choice) saying that the Push to Talk control option is not working (I did notice that you made a topic for it in General Discussion, so that’s acceptable too).

But yeah, I’ll add a correction in the OP to it to clarify that it doesn’t work without the Push to Talk Voice Chat Mode.

When will the devs go on a frenzy and reply to console players?

I seriously wonder if that will ever happen…

Ok guys don’t hate me for this but I have an idea.I know most of u won’t like it but just think about it for a while. Alot of problems in console ow are because of controllers, believe me ALOT. So why don’t give console MKB support (I don’t use MKB). Alot of us have a mouse and a keyboard at our homes. Think about it, it would feel so much better, it would end alot of problem and most of all it’s more fun to play fps games on mkb. Other games do it on ps4 metal gear and fortnite (maybe) why not overwatch. It’s just MY opinion.

Honestly I can’t watch Overwatch League. PC players are so prejudice against console players, I feel like they don’t even see us as a real part of the community. To them we’re just horrible Overwatch players who refuse to learn the true power of a mouse/keyboard, and repeatedly say that we should just “switch to PC” when we decide to take the game seriously. How can I support Overwatch League knowing that’s what they think of us? And seeing Blizzard playing favorites isn’t helping this whole situation either.

The problem with that is that not EVERYONE has a keyboard & mouse they can connect to their Playstation or Xbox (yes, it sounds rare enough but there are people out there like that).

Sure Console might benefit from mouse & keyboard but they would offer a distinct advantage from those who play with a controller and if there’s anything Blizzard is trying to do, is make the game fair and fun for the majority of the players on the platform…and the majority of people who play on consoles usually play with controllers.

All we want is to be acknowledged, that is literally the least Blizzard can do, but unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Overwatch wasn’t made for console, it was ported.

I understand ur point bro but u said majority of people have a mouse and a keyboard so basically majority of people will have fun right?
