OK, may have missed this in an earlier update as I don’t use it often, but now when you open the communication wheel, you can hit L1/R1 to change to spray, voice, and emote menus. When did this get added?
That got added very early 2017; it goes way back.

Thank you very much. I really don’t get it… yesterday seemed like a good moment to take their time to at least reply to us… unless we push them in an AMA or in a live interview from one of the youtubers, I really see a bleak future for us…

I remember Jeff saying that it was possible for them to do a console PTR but I highly doubt they’ll do that. They need more quality of life hero changes like what they did with Ana. Also…BRING TEXT CHAT TO CONSOLE.

Can you please address phrmacy problem in console we have so many dps heroes and we only play around this combo or against its just so unfair in many situations and unforgiving with the shaky controller aim i just cant seem to enjoy overwatch when this combo in every game and whether you get carried by them or get destroyed i am thinking to move to pc just to enjoy the game and play against or with variety of heroes even if i dont really know how to play good with m&k
and blizzard really need to make different balances on console
does reporting on console do anything if the jerks bypass the game chat and spam hate messages on xbox messenger? can i even report them for harassing me through messenger and in game when theyre on my team then the enemy team the next match? i feel like reporting them does nothing on either xbox live or overwatch anyway, and they still harass me if theyre on the enemy team. we had a thrower and i got the blame even though it wasnt me. it just feels hopeless to put up with this. it’s ruining the game for me.
If they message you on the console message system rather than in voice chat you can report them to the console’s company, in which case discipline for such behavior will (eventually) be dealt out because they can look at the messages. Fairly straight forward.
On the other hand, if they’re being toxic in the game’s voice chat… you’re likely out of luck. Reporting it to Microsoft/Sony results in them saying that in-game bans or the like the ball is in Blizzard’s court, and you’ll have to find a way to prove the behavior occurred so they can do anything about it because they don’t record the voice comms.
Honestly, we need a better system because it’s like we’re trying to serve two masters in keeping or policing toxicity and more often than should we’re told to take our problem to the other company. I mean, PC is getting a special “machine adaptive learning algorithm” as Jeff revealed that actually can interpret toxicity from the voice chat and automatically report it to Blizz. Don’t ever expect THAT to come to console…

Sony just tells you to block the player and to use the in game report system. I’ve gotten a few of those messages since the report system got put in. But you’re right, we really shouldn’t have to fight with 2 stances to lower toxicity

We’re screwed guys… my laptop just gave in, kinda, the wifi stopped working, so I’m thinking of getting a new one by september, putting some money aside or see if I’ll stop moving around and eventually go for a desktop PC. Only way i’ll play on console is if by then we’ll have a response. I’ve waited for 2 years for them to change their mentality and give them a chance to keep their word, I can wait 3-4more months just for the courtesy of it but not any longer.
I don’t even have hope anymore, I give up. I know us the console community were nothing more than a cashgrab and it makes me mad. If it would have been EA, everybody would be losing their mind right now. But Blizzard always gets away with everything because everybody seems to still believe that they’re this little customerfriendly independent dev team… newsflash: it’s activision, the ones with the predatory MT patent who want to make money before they make friends.
We were just a cashgrab, make a shirt of it, it will give you some more money and even a catchphrase.

I NEED to be able to set group privacy options here.
You can’t form a group with certain people when anyone can just join in.
When it even works. I’ve done the same and blocked players only to have them show up in the next game either on my team again or on the enemy team and I’ve even ran into the same player days later. Things like that make you question if blocking and reporting even goes anywhere other than straight to the Recycling Bin on some Dev’s computer.

Oh yeah, you’re certainly right about that. But I know that if I don’t at least try, nothing will ever change. Sony and Microsoft can keep making things difficult along with the game itself all they want. They can’t really discourage me from attempting to weed the worst out.
Blizz and PS4/Xbox could stand to make it all a little clear on if our reports/blocks/avoids actually mean anything though. Only time will tell, and boy do they love taking their time
Well I’ll snatch that 480! So we’re closing in on 500 with not a single trace of improving anything for us. Or even just acknowledging that there is work to be done. I guess i’ll just keep it casual and go back to FFXIV or MHW or DBFZ or GoW or… damn there’s so many fine games out there, why am I putting myself through this? And even worse: why is Blizz actually getting away with it?! It’s just so frustrating. If only OW had credible competition and was forced to step it up… paladins keeps shooting itself in the knee whenever they’re close to catching up with OW (at least on console).

Well, here we are. Another week in, without a response…
Blizzard, it doesn’t take a certification process to RESPOND to your Console Players. We are still around, going strong.
They’re actually pretty lucky that there were only veery few trying to compete for that spot along with battleborn, paladins and lawbreakers. And for their design staff who made an awesome job at making heroes look likable.
I would be willing to bet my genitalia that if someone like Nintendo would have taken up that genre and tried to enter competition, OW would be in a world of trouble, would they keep up this attitude towards console players.
